Hunter Keith | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
She was an X Factor before the 6A Finals even began. Some things can’t be coached. They are innate: In Salter’s case- speed and quickness. Salter’s ability to close out on two players on two consecutive passes was remarkable. Also her helpside defense was special in the finals. She would help prevent a drive to the basket and by the time the ball was kicked to the corner she was able to close out before the shooting guard could get in position to shoot. This occurred throughout the game and was a reason that Salter’s team was a plus 11 when she was on the court. Salter had a few impactful offensive plays in crunch time: a mid-range jumper in crunch time and a wrap around pass in the final moments.

is a solid point guard and could be the X Factor in the State Playoffs. Her skillset makes her a prime candidate. Salter has speed and quickness that allows her to defend at a high level, allows her to make plays on the offensive end, and allows her to have a huge impact in the transition game. Salter can shoot the three, shoot the midrange, and definitely can get to the rim.

Kaleser Salter looked impressive on the floor and in a fast paced game, a lot of her skills were on display: The speed, the fluid motion, and the ability to defend elite athletes. In addition to seeing all of this, there was some nice basketball action that got the crowd out of their seats. Salter drove down the middle of the lane, looked off the defender, and exploded to the rim for the layup. The Senior guard was composed and confident. Her selfless play and willingness to do whatever it takes will go a long ways in Bloomingdale’s return to Lakeland.

The 2025 Rankings can’t have a stock rising list without Salter’s name on it. Salter has improved her game leaps and bounds from where it was last year this time. Salter has the quickness and that explosive first step is deadly. Salter gets to the rim and she can also finish. Offensive, Salter can shoot the three and the short jumper and do so off the dribble or the pass. Shooting off the dribble plays to all of her strengths as she keeps the defense on its heels. Salter does a good job of scoring the ball. Defensively, Salter presses up on the ball and can be disruptive with her speed and quickness.

Kalese displayed why she may be the missing piece for Bloomindale to get over the hump and win a state championship. The 5’4 point guard came off the bench and added a much needed defensive punch for her squad. A lot of what Kalese does will not show up on the stat sheet, but anyone that knows the game understands her value is immeasurable. Her pressure on the Tampa Catholic guards late in the game forced the Crusaders into some tough shots and got them out of their offensive rhythm. She also settled her squad down late in the 4th assisting on some quality looks that lead to the close victory. Kalese showed great leadership and a will to win, something that has become a staple of her game.

Last year, Kalese co-led her high school team, Tampa Bay Tech, in points per game (12.2) and led the team in assists per game (2.5), scoring 257 points over the season. Tampa Bay Tech had a young team due to a rebuilding year under new coaching, with Kalese and Azjannie being the only two returning varsity players.
This season, Salter is taking her talents to the 2024 6A state runner-ups, Bloomingdale, who had an impressive 30-1 season. Already a strong team, Bloomingdale brings in Kalese along with a few other transfers, with the goal of winning the state championship this year. Kalese brings a crafty scoring ability, using minimal dribbles to create her own shots. Salter has become decisive with the ball, and her quickness and speed allow her to get past defenders and drive to the rim. She can also stop on a dime and hit her step-back jumper, making her an even more dangerous scoring threat, especially with so many other weapons around her.
Salter adds an extra scoring threat that will help Bloomingdale replicate the success of last season, but this time with the goal of winning the state championship.

. Salters is a selfless player, who can impact the game in a lot of ways. Offense, defense, press, press break, or in transition. Speed kills and Salters has enough of it to do a lot of damage at Bloomingdale.

The left shooter had a hard time getting going, but knocked down shots when she was open. Can get her left mid-rang pullup off anytime she wants. Top tier scorer that can do things most players can’t. Has a nice euro to change directions.
