North Scott
The team that is leading the region in scoring sits at the top with a 17-3 record. On the year, North Scott has scored 57.4 points a game and has only given up 36.2 points a game. They very rarely turn the ball over as evidenced by their 219 turnovers, best in the region. This is a team that is a threat to get to state and make noise. Grace Boffeli, a junior, leads the team in scoring with 17.7 points a game.
The Sleeper
Keokuk
This is a team that has played five out of state teams and are 2-3 against those teams. They only have lost to two teams in Iowa with those losses not being exactly bad losses either. They are only rebounding the ball at a 24.6 average, but they do score pretty efficiently on their 763 shots they have taken this season. Senior MacKenzie Northrup leads the region in scoring as she averages 18.0 points a game.
The Outside Shot
Maquoketa
They have taken 82 more shots than the next highest team this season but are only shooting the ball at a 35.9 percent clip on the year. This is a team that forces turnovers and has a lot of blocks, but they do at times turn the ball over often. They shoot a ton of free throws so the potential is always going to be there for them to knock a team off in the region. The are a balanced scoring team with three players in double figures. At 15.8 points per game, senior Brie Bennis will be the one to lead this team to state.
