Imani Lester Imani Lester 6'3" | PF North Raleigh Christian Academy | 2022 State NC | North Raleigh Christian | PF | 2022
Lester (pictured above) committed to Louisville this year taking with her double-double stats with 16.7 ppg and 12.6 rpg. One of her best assets may be defensively using her length to grab steals and her ball tracking ability to block shots. She is certainly a force in the paint on the offensive side of the ball knowing exactly how to seal off her opponents to score her points. She has versatility all over the court, too, getting her teammates involved with passes and creating space for them to score.
Miya Giles-Jones Miya Giles-Jones 6'1" | SF Terry Sanford | 2023 State NC | Terry Sanford | SF | 2023
As a sophomore last year, Giles-Jones showed that she could play all 5 positions on the court offensively and defensively. She uses her height to have her way in the paint, and she can certainly handle the ball effectively creating her own space to score. Her well rounded stats on the season show that, too: 22.1 ppg, 13.8 rpg, 3 apg, 4.4 spg, and 2 bpg. Her ability to shoot from three definitely adds to her resume making opposing coaches struggle trying to figure out which of their own players should be guarding her. She’s received offers from schools like Temple and University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Ka’Nyah O’Neal | Southside | PF | 2023
O’Neal has a nasty crossover that makes it difficult for opponents to stay close to her. She is certainly a scorer averaging over 25 points a game last season. She knows how to get close to the rim to grab rebounds, too, racking up over 15 rebounds a game. She’s a tenacious defender making sure to grab steals that she can quickly convert to points bringing them up the court.
Zamareya Jones Zamareya Jones 5'6" | PG North Pitt | 2024 State NC | North Pitt | PG | 2024
Jones already plays at a high level not letting any height or age stand in her way while she’s driving to the hoop. Her ball moves are exceptional using fakes and windmills to get by her opponents, and she has a nice touch around the rim. Her vision of the court is awesome to see as she finds her open teammates zipping passes into them with ease. She averaged 23 points a game and 6.5 apg last season, and I think her numbers are only going to go up from here.
Sarah Strong Sarah Strong 6'2" | PF Grace Christian | 2024 State NC | Grace Christian | PG | 2024
Strong has quickly risen to be one of the top high schoolers in the state with her versatility all over the court. She can body someone in the paint getting points and going after rebounds. She controls the tempo of the game bringing the ball up the court at times knowing how to direct her teammates where to go to be effective on offense. She also is a threat from deep making her a solid three level scorer. She’s taking her talents to Grace Christian in Sanford, NC this season.
