Coach Jermaine Dunn is back with a squad that has a solid starting five, but is not as deep as his previous teams. The Foresters posted a 20-3 record and won their Regional championship in their last full season out and if the team gels they will be a threat in 1A once again. [player_tooltip player_id="137256" first="Destiny" last="Holmes"] transferred in from St.Frances Academy and she will step right into a starting role. Robb Dubose is joining Coach Dunn on the bench this year.
<strong><span style="color: #201f1e; font-family: garamond, new york, times, serif;">Aliyah Carroll, 2024, Wing </span></strong>
Aaliyah is one of the top players from the area in the 2024 class. She is a freak athlete with top end speed and impressive hops. The Foresters will look to her to provide strong perimeter defense and scoring as they chase that 1A state title.
<strong><span style="color: #201f1e; font-family: garamond, new york, times, serif;"> [player_tooltip player_id="137256" first="Destiny" last="Holmes"], 2022, Guard </span></strong>
Destiny comes over from St. Frances Academy and will step into the point guard role. She will provide scoring, playmaking and strong defense. She should fit right into Coach Dunn's uptempo style and she is a fierce competitor.
<strong><span style="color: #201f1e; font-family: garamond, new york, times, serif;"> Danielle Jones, 2022, Guard/Wing</span></strong>
Danielle is the heart of the team and is almost all the way back from her knee injury. She has range out to the three point line, but does her damage inside. She has a good face up game but she can post up and bang with bigger players. She has good vision and facilitate offense if necessary.
<strong><span style="color: #201f1e; font-family: garamond, new york, times, serif;"> [player_tooltip player_id="304357" first="Chaniya" last="Taylor"], 2024, Forward </span></strong>
Chaniya will hold down the paint, providing rebounding and shot blocking for the Foresters. At six feet she has the size and length to impact the game on both ends. Her offense is limited to layups and put backs but she has a strong motor and is super competitive.
<span style="color: #201f1e; font-family: garamond, new york, times, serif;"><strong> [player_tooltip player_id="332124" first="Amora" last="Alston"], 2024, Point Guard </strong><br clear="none" /></span>
Amora has a great opportunity this season to grow her game and make a name for herself. She is a talented guard that is capable of getting into the lane and finishing and making shots out to the three point line. Her focus will have to be on giving the team some quality minutes while running the offense and keeping her turnovers down.
