Thursday provided us with some exceptional basketball across the state. Check out our Most Outstanding Player (MOP) and some Honorable Mentions from yesterday’s action.
<h4><em>HONORABLE MENTIONS</em></h4>
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189288" first="Kennedy" last="Blair"] (2023, CG, Divine Child)</strong>
Blair was big, especially in key moments, during a tight win over Marian. She finished with 20 points, 2 of which came off of free throws with just seconds remaining that cemented the victory.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244266" first="Indya" last="Davis"] (2024, SG, West Bloomfield)</strong>
Davis showed why she’s considered to be such an elite talent. She led her team to a big win over Troy. She touched every part of the stat sheet, finishing with 16 points, 6 steals, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189300" first="Shamya" last="Reid"] (2023, PG, Westfield Prep)</strong>
Reid had a huge night in an impressive win over Dexter. She went off, scoring 34 points in the win. Reid continues to prove that she’s a top notch point guard in the state.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147759" first="Ashley" last="Loon"] (2022, SG, Berkley)</strong>
I’ve always been very high on Loon as a player and prospect. She’s a confident and efficient shooter that scored 18 points, leading the way to a 45-26 win against North Farmington.
<strong>Dania McClain (2025, PF, South Lake)</strong>
McClain’s South Lake squad defeated Lamphere by a score of 45-24. She showed last night why she’ll be a terror for opponents for years to come. McClain finished with 19 points, 9 blocks, and 8 rebounds.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147721" first="Sydney" last="Pnacek"] (2022, SF, Dexter)</strong>
Pnacek’s team was defeated in a hard fought loss by a state title contending Westfield Prep team, but Pnacek certainly came to play. She finished with 20 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.
<strong>Sammi Schultz (2022, SG, Williamston)</strong>
Schultz was excellent in her team’s 63-21 victory over St. John’s. The solid shooter and 2 way player finished the night with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147767" first="Madison" last="Skorupski"] (2022, CG, Clarkston)</strong>
Skorupski continued her memorable senior season in an impressive win over Birmingham Groves. She scorched the nets for 25 points. Skorupski has been one of the top, and most consistent, scorers state wide.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244279" first="Stephanie" last="Utomi"] (2024, SG, Arbor Prep)</strong>
Utomi led the way in her team’s 65-20 win over Allen Park Inner City Baptist. She scored 20 points and grabbed 7 boards in the game.

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147713" first="Ruby" last="Whitehorn"] (2022, PG, Detroit Edison)</strong>
Detroit Edison returned to action and they picked up right where they left off - winning. They picked up an impressive W over a solid and scrappy East Lansing team. Whitehorn was the head of the snake, finishing with an explosive yet efficient 30 points. She also snagged 10 rebounds, had 3 assists, and 3 steals.
