The only 2028 that is playing up on Carolina Flames 17u team. She fit right in with the team whether she was playing the point guard or the scoring guard. Kaleigh knocked down some key three point shots at times that were nothing but net. She also showed a nice floater game when she was shooting over longer defenders. Defensively, she made it tough on the opposing team by always being around the ball and playing savy defense.

Lucas showed this weekend that she can score over bigger defenders. She took the ball to the rack multiple times displaying her craftiness by changing her speed and direction with the ball in her hands. The most impressive thing was she was finishing through hard contact. Kaleigh also showed a nice tear drop floater over long defenders trying to protect the rim. She looks like she is set for an outstanding AAU season.

Spunky quick floor general that controls the game and tempo. Lucas has the ball in her hands the majority of the time and is the play maker for South Pointe. She is a three-level scorer and can get to the rim with ease showcasing her crafty and shifty ball handling skills. Kaleigh is also an elite passer and can thread the needle with her passes when necessary.

Speaking of Division I prospects from 4A state powers, Lucas is always present in that chat. Lucas’ latest collegiate offer was of the in-state variety from College of Charleston and coach Robin Harmony. She holds several Division I offers and recently added flag football to her athletic resume. Furman, Elon, North Carolina A&T, SC State and Winthrop all offered her as well. Lucas also was on the Under Armour circuit with FBC United The Family. Currently ranked as the #1 player in SC. This kid can do it ALL!! Her biggest attribute is her motor on both ends of the court. She just keeps attacking and attacking on both sides of the ball. Her speed matched with her IQ is two main reasons she is hot on many colleges radar. Her range and percentage beyond the arc is a must see and she always has a deadly floater in the mid range game. Congratulations Kaleigh on your recent offer from College of Charleston.

Currently the top 2028 in our rankings, one would expect a guard as dynamic as Lucas to garner a sizable number of collegiate offers. Her latest one was in-state and from a Division I school as Winthrop and coach Semeka Randall Lay has Lucas on her radar. As a sophomore, Lucas still has plenty of time to arrive at a college decision but she has more experience than the average sophomore given she has played at the varsity level since she was a seventh grader. Lucas played in all 30 games last season for 4A South Pointe and averaged 20.8 points, 4.7 steals, 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds. Her focus for now ensuring her Stallions are the last 4A assembling standing when March arrives – as well as becoming a multi-sport athlete as Lucas is also playing flag football.
