SC Prospects That Thrived Throughout July’s First Live Period

Whether it was earning their Roses in Louisville or everything coming up Aces in Las Vegas, the depth of talent that populates the South Carolina high school girls basketball scene made its presence felt during last month's live period.    The 2026 AAU season may be winding down but many are saving their best for last. In addition to three Prep Girls Hoops Circuit events said to emanate from Spartanburg, Kansas and Indiana this weekend, the Nike Nationals emanates from Chicago in two weeks.    There will be time to look ahead to the upcoming weekends of travel ball but now is a time to look back at the weekend it was for Palmetto State prospects.     [program_tooltip program_id='783909' first='Palmetto' last='76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite'] finished 5-1 over the weekend at Nike's EYBL Session 3 in Las Vegas and Carter is looking to translate that same momentum to the Nike Nationals in Chicago. Carter has continued to build a steadily rising profile as she now has two state championships with 5A Berkeley on her resume and her Stags will be a favorite to be the final 5A assembling standing once again once the 2026-27 concludes in March. Finishing 5-1 at such an elite tournament is not an easy task but Carter is proving she is among the state's elite prospects. She averaged 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.9 steals per game last season and capped off the 2025-26 campaign with a 29-point performance at Colonial Life Arena against Greenville in the 5A Division 2 state contest.      Crawley is in an excellent spot to be one of the next marquee names from South Carolina. She wears the [program_tooltip program_id='783909' first='Palmetto' last='76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite'] uniform during the spring and summer months of AAU and has previously played at Summit MS. Crawley was consistently giving her team 15-point performances – one of which also saw her finish with a double-double that included 10 rebounds. With Nike's EYBL Session 3 in the rear-view mirror, Crawley is also turning her attention to Chicago's Nike Nationals. Crawley is also transitioning to life at SCISA 4A Heathwood Hall wearing its signature green and navy blue hues.      Lee-Sutton had herself a banner 2025-26 campaign as she led Keenan to a 3A Lower State championship. She and her Raiders will transition back to the 2A ranks beginning with the 2026-27 season. She and her AEBL 16U EYBL team was another one of the many squads that were on hand in Las Vegas as she took part in six contests throughout the past weekend. Lee-Sutton has played at the varsity level since she was a seventh grader and averaged 22.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 3.3 assists as she played in 25 of Keenan's 27 contests last season.      How Vereen and her North Myrtle Beach team ran roughshod over the competition was one of the key stories of the 2025-26 season. Her SC Future team plays on the Under Armour circuit and was one of the many teams on hand at Run 4 The Roses. Vereen competed in six games in Louisville and is looking ahead to finishing the 2026 AAU campaign in Ohio. Vereen played in 22 of 24 contests last season for. Chiefs team that advanced to the 5A Division 2 Lower State semifinals last season. The rising senior averaged 16.1 points, 6.5 steals, five rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest.      Moore's Carolina All In team has made plenty of waves on the New Balance P32 Circuit in large part because of a star veteran guard from 5A Dorman. She was in Cincinnati during the first live period event of July and made her presence known as a consistent scorer and playmaker with a great deal of toughness. Moore led her Cavaliers to last season's 5A Division 1 Upper State semifinals. She also led Dorman to a 21-5 record in 2025-26 and an 8-0 mark to win its region. She averaged 13 points, 3.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 steals in the 26 contests she played last season with Dorman.      Six games were also in the plans for Lucas and her CP3 Flames 17U team as she has displayed throughout her basketball career that she is more than worthy of playing up in class. As Nike EYBL Session 3 in Las Vegas wore on, Lucas made her presence more known and displayed why she has secured a litany of Division I offers – the latest of which was by way of Stetson. She is part of the nucleus of a South Pointe team that qualified for last season's 4A Upper State championship game. Lucas played in all 29 contests last season in Stallions red while averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 steals and 5.3 assists per game.      Adams is another that has played at the varsity level since she was a middle schooler and has guided her St. Joseph's Catholic team to back-to-back Upper State championship games. She is one of the Palmetto State's premier long-range shooters and one can expect for that to continue to be the case in two weeks in Chicago at the Nike Nationals. Her Knights will make the move from 3A to 2A beginning with the 2026-27 season. Adams played in all 27 of St. Joseph's Catholic's matchups last season and averaged 17.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 steals per contest. She is set to be the centerpiece of all things Knights for the next couple of seasons.      Considering [program_tooltip program_id='988463' first='Mosch' last='Ball'] departed from Louisville as a Bronze Champion, several from the Summerville-based AAU assembling are more than deserving of recognition. Boatwright is one of those. She has had a stellar campaign on the grassroots trail this spring and summer and continued that in Derby City. Boatwright's Swamp Foxes were 5A Division 1 Lower State semifinalists from last season. She is a rising junior that averaged 9.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals per contest. Boatwright will conclude her 2026 travel campaign at the Insider Exposure Summer Slam in Greensboro. She thrives as a 5-foot-10 veteran playing at the wing.     Elliott is another one of the [program_tooltip program_id='988463' first='Mosch' last='Ball'] organization's signature players. While the rising junior may capture headlines for what she can get accomplished from behind the 3-point arc, Elliott is also among the state's fiercest defensive playmakers. Following a solid career at 5A West Ashley, Elliott is bringing her many hoops talents to the SCISA ranks – to defending 4A champion First Baptist to be exact. Elliott averaged 12.9 points, 5.5 steals, four rebounds and 3.8 assists last season with the Wildcats and her joining the Hurricanes gives coach Presley Singleton's team one of the most dangerous backcourts in the Palmetto State.      Reynolds is also one of the signature players for [program_tooltip program_id='988463' first='Mosch' last='Ball']. A tall two guard that can also play at the wing, opposing teams must game plan for her whether she is in a [program_tooltip program_id='988463' first='Mosch' last='Ball'] uniform or wearing the threads of 5A Wando. Last season, Reynolds was part of a nucleus of a Warriors team that earned a 5A Division 1 Lower State championship. She would compete in all 29 contests last season for the Warriors while averaging 12.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and three steals per contest. Reynolds also led Wando with 19 points in last season's 5A Division 1 state championship game against Blythewood.      It is one thing to play up in a 17U division as an eighth grader. It is another to be a rising freshman and score 18 points in a 17U championship game at Run 4 The Roses. That is what Johnson got accomplished for [program_tooltip program_id='988463' first='Mosch' last='Ball']. Johnson previously played at Lucy Beckham and is bringing her many basketball talents to one of the premier 3A teams in the state in Oceanside Collegiate. Johnson would compete in all 22 games last season for the Bengals while excelling as a scorer and rebounder. She averaged 6.3 points and 4.5 boards in a Lucy Beckham uniform in 2025-26. Another element to Johnson's game that earns her plenty of playing time is her toughness.     Singletary first proved that she belonged at the high school varsity level as a seventh grader and has not looked back since. She is a Division I prospect who recently secured an offer from Coastal Carolina and spent this month's initial live period in Las Vegas at Nike EYBL Session 3 with [program_tooltip program_id='1238252' first='Twelve' last='Time']. Her ability to handle the ball with either hand and find lanes to the rim can especially throw defenses for a loop. Rebounding is another one of Singletary's many positives. Singletary would compete in all 27 contests last season for Irmo while averaging 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.6 steals per matchup. Her Yellow Jackets are moving from 5A back to 4A starting with the 2026-27 season.      Fewer players across the Palmetto State have built more of a national profile than Dates who recently added an offer from South Carolina and Dawn Staley to her resume. Her playmaking capabilities were on full display this past weekend in Louisville as her FBC United team was one of the many that were on hand at Run 4 Roses. Not only did Dates depart from Run 4 Roses having played more solid ball, she left with another Division I offer courtesy of Big Ten school Michigan. Dates guided her Goose Creek assembling to last season's 5A Division 2 Lower State championship game while averaging 20 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 steals as a freshman.      Nike EYBL Session 3 is in the backburner for this star frontcourt force from 4A South Florence and she has Chicago and the Nike Nationals on the brains. Bostick is an efficient floor runner who can make plays in transition and does not shy away from contact that can place her at the free throw line. Bostick has played at the varsity level since she was an eighth grader and averaged a double-double of 22.3 points and 10.1 rebounds in 28 games last season for a Bruins team that were 4A Lower State finalists from last season. Her most recent offers were by way of Furman and Denmark Tech.      Godfrey was a key piece to a winning puzzle for coach Jordan Leath's 5A River Bluff team that saw the Gators host a first-round playoff game for the first time in several years. She was another who was on site in Las Vegas for Nike EYBL Session 3 with [program_tooltip program_id='783909' first='Palmetto' last='76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite']. Her 3-point shooting, rim attacking, efficient floor running, transition playmaking and ball distributing capabilities were on full display last weekend. The rising star senior guard played in all 26 of River Bluff's contests last season while averaging 10.9 points, 2.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 steals per matchup.     Pojani is continuing to put up big numbers on the travel circuit. She and her FBC Reign 2028 GUAA team competed in six contests in Louisville and averaged 19.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per contest. She also benefitted recruiting-wise as she picked up a couple of Division I FCS offers courtesy of Cornell and Kennesaw State. Pojani is, arguably, the Palmetto State's premier player from the SCISA ranks as she led First Baptist to a 4A championship. The star rising junior averaged 22.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 3.7 assists in the 35 games that the Hurricanes played.      Rush and her SC Future 17U team had a busy schedule in Louisville as she played in a grand total of eight contests in Kentucky. Ohio awaits at the end of the month as that is where the Under Armour finals will emanate from. Rush is on the verge of her senior season with a Camden team that were 4A Upper State semifinalists from a year ago. She and her Bulldogs will look to keep its winning ways going as Camden moves back to the 3A ranks. Competing in all 27 contests for the Bulldogs last season, Rush averaged 11.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game.
