This weekend was one of the last <strong>Triumph Region</strong> events in the<strong> PGH Circuit</strong>. Over the course of Saturday/Sunday at Mainland HS, I watched teams from the Southeast (and Illinois) compete in the <strong>Southeast Slam</strong>. Here is our <em>16U First Team All-Tournament</em>:
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-431424 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1580-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="197" height="197" />[player_tooltip player_id="429793" first="Olivia" last="Olson"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">| DME | 2025</span></span>
Olivia was the best player with the highest overall ceiling in the building. She scores at-will from all three levels with good size and a good frame for a guard/wing. She’s not afraid to let it fly, and she always has the green light as she can put up points in a hurry. Her handles allow her to create on her own, her height allows her to rise above from mid-range, and she knows how to put the ball in the hoop with creativity. Liv also crashes the boards and plays hard on defense as well. Currently, she has two D1 offers and interest from others.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-431426 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1575-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="430459" first="Stephanie" last="Vega"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">| Miami Impact | 2026</span></span>
Stephanie was making things happen for Miami Impact this weekend. She has a nasty euro step that she used multiple times to score in transition. Her runner is another weapon she used to score it when her defenders gave her space. She has good size and a good frame for a 2026, and she uses her body to get position for rebounds and putbacks.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class="wp-image-431427 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1578-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="381166" first="Camille" last="Files"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">| DME | 2025</span></span>
Camille had some of the best court vision I saw in Daytona. The lefty from Georgia pushed the ball well in transition, got to the rim with her handles, and could use both hands when finishing at the rim. She’s feisty on defense and is a high energy player that has a smooth and aggressive game. If her shot continues to develop, she could be one of the best PG’s in the Southeast.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class="wp-image-431429 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1573-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="193" height="193" />[player_tooltip player_id="171803" first="Tamya" last="Hutchinson"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">| H2Lowco | 2024</span></span>
Tamya was putting on an athletic display this weekend at Maindland. Her hops and ability to elevate for a rebound or a bucket was the best I saw all weekend. She attacked the rim and even stepped out to hit a few from the outside, too. She’s so quick and plays with active hands that frustrate her opponents.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class="wp-image-412224 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/04/IMG_0470-225x300.jpg" alt="" width="162" height="216" />[player_tooltip player_id="243907" first="Ashley" last="Martinez"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">| Miami Impact | 2026</span></span>
Ashley is known for being a shooter, and she does so much more than that. Outside of hitting three’s from 5 feet behind the arc, she can get to the rim and finish. She is an integral part of that Miami Impact press at the head of it. Her motor, length, and knowledge of the game make her a really well-rounded player ar such a young age. She has a chance to be a star who doesn’t have much weakness in her game.
