Brandon Fisher | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Stephanie served as the steady, high-IQ motor that powered Doral Academy to the 7A title, culminating in dominant performances throughout the state championship series. In the semifinal, she poured in 24 points on an incredible 9-of-10 shooting while drawing six fouls that helped remove Centennial’s top two seniors from the game. She carried that momentum into the final, leading all scorers with 22 points, going 8-of-10 from the free-throw line, drawing eight fouls, and grabbing five rebounds to control the glass. While her scoring was critical, her defensive intelligence set her apart—playing 30 high-intensity minutes in the final and recording five steals across the two games. By combining veteran poise with physical presence, Vega kept Doral composed under pressure and clinical when the championship was on the line.

Vega (pictured above – right) delivered one of the most complete performances on the floor and proved extremely difficult for the defense to contain. She consistently attacked the rim with strong ball-handling and confidence, repeatedly drawing fouls and converting at the free-throw line. Vega showed the ability to create offense off the dribble while also stretching the floor with perimeter shooting. She finished with 22 points, knocking down two three-pointers and converting 8-10 from the free throw line. Her aggressiveness and ability to play through contact allowed Doral to maintain offensive pressure throughout the game. Vega’s ability to break down defenders and produce buckets or get to the free- throw line when possessions became difficult was a major factor in the championship result.

Vega delivered a dominant interior performance, providing the perfect balance to Doral’s perimeter shooting attack. The forward scored 24 points on an extremely efficient 9-of-10 shooting from the field while consistently attacking the paint. She remained active on cuts and drives to the rim. Another telling stat- she shot 10 free throws and drew 6 fouls – putting Centennial in foul trouble. With defenses stretched by Doral’s outside shooting, Vega took full advantage getting to the rim, making her a strong scoring presence in the semifinal victory.

is a 1,000-point career scorer, so it’s no surprise that she is one of the leading scorers in the 7A class. One of her strongest offensive skills is her shooting ability, but her most dangerous weapon is drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line, where she is automatic. She is shooting 75% from the line this season and had one game where she went 16-for-18 on free throws.
This season, Vega is averaging 18.4 PPG while shooting 48% from the field. She controls the game and takes what the defense gives her, showing her veteran presence and poise on the floor.

was a “beast” at the New Year Classic and one of the most polished and talented players at the event. She has the ability to score from anywhere on the court – a three level scorer. Vega’s jump shot was very efficient and she had the ability to catch and shoot or create the space to shoot the three off of the dribble. Vega’s threat from the perimeter was a perfect compliment to her ability to get to the rim. She could maneuver to the rim with the dribble and also get to the rim with a deadly spin move. She was very skilled at drawing fouls and getting to the freethrow line. A lot of the freethrow opportunties were of the “and-one” variety. Vega is a skilled playmaker who knows how to get the ball to her teammates for scoring opportunity. Her passing ability along with her rebounding and scoring were on display.
Here are some the fireworks that Vega delivered:
Drive through the lane and score, drives and draws foul, grabs the offensive rebound and draws the foul, Vega has the ability to play physical, she executes a patented spin move in the middle creates space for the scoring opportunity, a beautifule drive and score at the rim , nice drive and dish to teammate, drive to baseline and got to freethrow line , sneaky score off the inbounds pass , a threepointer from the deep left elbow, and a drive, crossover, and finish in the paint.
Vega is a talent and not many can match her offensive firepower. She made a future “stock riser case” over the weekend.

Despite being limited this season due to an injury, Vega is one of the top shooters from beyond the arc in the 2026 class. She plays with a ton of confidence and can knock down shots from anywhere within the half court. She shot 44 percent from the field during the 10 games played this season for Somerset Academy. She is also a pure ball-handler and provides creativity by setting up teammates by slashing into the paint, as well as a precision passer.
