River City Run: 17U All-Tourney Team

This past weekend, Prep Girls Hoops hosted the River City Run in Louisville, Kentucky. There were 15 teams in the 17U division, and I was tasked with specifically covering that age group. I was able to get eyes on each team for at least one of their games, and most teams I saw twice, but I wanted to circle back and offer everyone a look at who I felt stepped up most and played the best in the 17U division when I was able to see them at the River City Run.   RIVER CITY RUN ALL-TOURNEY TEAMS 1st Team All-Tourney [player_tooltip player_id="153419" first="Kyra" last="Brown"], 2023, 5-4 G, Capital H.S., OV Lady Dragons Gray - dynamic, athletic guard was electric all weekend, whether she was shooting/scoring or defending [player_tooltip player_id="164406" first="Amy" last="Thompson"], 2023, 6-0 F, Whitefield Academy, Kentucky Ice Select - highly skilled forward can really pass, shoot it consistently, and handles it in transition at times [player_tooltip player_id="255502" first="Ma’Kiya" last="West"], 2023, 5-11 F, Louisville Male H.S., Kentucky Ice Select - strong, bouncy athlete is very aggressive on the glass; has a nice mid-post game as well [player_tooltip player_id="342235" first="Lily" last="Jordan"], 2024, 6-0 F, Morgantown H.S., OV Lady Dragons Black - strong and skillful youngster can dominate the paint or the mid-post, and has range to ’3’ [player_tooltip player_id="264118" first="Morgan" last="Roberts"], 2024, 5-11 W, Fishers H.S., Indiana Showcase Select - long, wiry-strong, and active wing can score it at all three levels, handle, and creates for others 2nd Team All-Tourney [player_tooltip player_id="178239" first="Leah" last="Bachmann"], 2023, 6-0 C, Columbus East H.S., Indiana Flight Sharks - strong/powerful front-liner plays with a relentless motor; can score on the block; rebounds well [player_tooltip player_id="413864" first="Mattie" last="Clanton"], 2023, 5-3 G, Meade County H.S., Team Firstep - water-bug guard was a blur all weekend; can really shoot it, and is a nice on-ball defender [player_tooltip player_id="387859" first="Hazley" last="Matthews"], 2023, 5-7 G, Rock Hill H.S., OV Lady Dragons Gray - long, wiry-strong, and athletic in all directions; she shot/scored it consistently from everywhere [player_tooltip player_id="203652" first="Autumn" last="Rucker"], 2023, 5-8 W, Pike H.S., Indiana Showcase Black - strong & athletic wing is really starting to assert herself offensively; can defend three positions Maddy King, 2024, 5-0 PG, Berea H.S., Overtime Performance - short in stature, but not in heart; plays extremely hard, has speed, a nice shot, and great vision 3rd Team All-Tourney [player_tooltip player_id="199611" first="Jermyra" last="Christian"], 2023, 5-6 PG, East Jessamine H.S., Overtime Performance Select Black - wiry-strong, athletic guard is a talent at both ends of the floor; creates offense for herself and others [player_tooltip player_id="178236" first="Madelyn" last="Hackman"], 2023, 5-8 G, Brownstown Central H.S., Indiana Flight Sharks - versatile, do-everything guard; will rebound, defend, handle, shoot, and post smaller defenders [player_tooltip player_id="164414" first="Sanaa" last="Jackson"], 2023, 5-8 W, Paris H.S., Central Kentucky Storm - athletic wing plays with a nice motor; has a strong frame, length, speed, and scores it inside-out [player_tooltip player_id="300073" first="Avery" last="Patterson"], 2023, 5-4 G, Bloomington H.S.
