Karina Smith 2025 Spring High School (League City Sharks)
Karina is an intelligent combo guard with her ability to play off the ball and make her defender pay for turning their back on her, constantly cutting backdoor and running the baseline for open shot opportunities. She clearly has played the true point guard role before, constantly making picture perfect passes after drawing the defense in. She had a few plays where she made high level passes, even after leaving her feet to take a shot in the paint. When running the court with a live dribble, she seems to have eyes in the back of her head with the way she manipulated her opponents, crossing them over or going behind the back to keep them off balance. On the defensive side of things, she is an aggressive on ball defender paired well with her active hands. She made life very difficult for opposing ball handlers, picking them up as soon as they were at the three point line and forcing them to do something else with it. I would like to see her work on her ability to get off her own shot in the midrange, she is constantly flying by her opponents, but could easily develop stopping on a dime and taking a high percentage midrange shot opportunity.
Danica Clark 2025 Friendswood High School (League City Sharks)
Danica is an unselfish guard who sees the floor at a very high level and is always willing to make the extra pass in any situation to set up a teammate for a better shot. She made accurate passes in the full court, finding her teammates for easy looks on the fast break. She is a great teammate with some of the looks that she passed up to find a teammate alone on the wing for an open midrange attempt, but I would like to see her be more aggressive, especially when attacking the rim. She made great dump-off passes to her teammates but at times she should have gone up strong instead. On the defensive end of the court, she uses her high basketball IQ to smartly trap the ball and use her athleticism to be a menace in the full court. She is used as the focal point of the attack on their full court press and she screams around from sideline to sideline chasing the ball and causing havoc on the court. She came up with a multitude of steals, angling her opponents into the waiting arms of a teammate or poking the ball free herself!
Kennedy Ferrell 2025 Dickinson High School (League City Sharks)
Kennedy is a high level forward who can do it all on both ends of the court. She is a tenacious rebounder on both ends of the court, allowing her to get easy second chance points by being in the right spot for her teammates misses. She is very aggressive on both ends of the court, who uses her aggressiveness to fight for position, but also dominate down low. Ferrell came up with big time blocks down low, both as a help defender and coming over from behind to swat her opponent. She loves keeping the ball high and out of her opponents reach and easily finishing underneath the cup. I was very impressed with the handle she displayed and the ease in which she operated out of the high post and in the full court. She routinely got into the paint with her handle, turning the corner well on her opponents in the open court. I would like to see her tighten up her shooting mechanics, her guide hand has a bit too much affect on her shot forcing it to miss wide at times.
Audryna Silva 2025 Pasadena Memorial High School (League City Sharks)
Audryna is a skilled forward who is great with her back to the basket. I was really impressed with the amount of footwork she showed, continuously manipulating her opponent until she got great positioning in the paint. She is a very confident player with the ball in her hands, confidently scoring with few dribbles when she has established her post presence. She loves getting to her spots in the corners, hitting just the right spots on the backboard to consistently finish down low.
