USF traditionally holds one of the top team camps in the state of Florida. We stopped into the check out the action on Sunday to see bracket play, as teams competed to take home a championship on day 3 of the action. Here are some of the standouts in the class of 2025.
Jim’Miyah Branton (SLAM! Miami) – Guard
Branton is an uber athletic guard who is super quick and explosive with the ball in her hands. Branton challenge is to stay engaged and consistent with her energy and effort. She often goes with the flow of the game but when she is attacking off the dribble downhill, applying ball pressure, and playing with a high activity level, she is an extremely impactful player on both ends of the floor and a high-level prospect!
Calise Smith (West Port HS) – Wing
Smith was a young wing / forward who caught my eye in multiple games. She has a nice build and has potential to be an impact player based on her length, wingspan, body, and athleticism. Need to see more of her but a potential newcomer with the ability to be a stock riser in the class of 2025!
Adaya Montalvo Adaya Montalvo 5'8" | CG SLAM! (Miami) | 2025 State FL (SLAM! Miami) – Guard
Montalvo is a skilled guard with a high basketball IQ and can shoot it from 3! Montalvo picked up her defensive intensity in the 2nd half of bracket play, helping lead SLAM! to a 2nd half comeback vs Gulf Coast.
Kendra Yates (TPA Flight) – Guard
Yates is a skilled combo guard who played both the PG and SG spot. She can handle the ball, knock down open 3s, and play with the ball in her hands, and off the ball.
Samantha Bautista Samantha Bautista 5'7" | CG SLAM! (Miami) | 2025 State FL (SLAM! Miami) – Guard
Bautista is a quick with the ball in her hands. She is a high volume / high percentage 3-point shooter with a quick release and deep range! She is extremely skilled and has some shake to her game, attacking off the bounce, showcasing a number of combination moves with good change of speed and direction as well as an excellent hesitation move.
Ally Bonilla (Pace Academy) – Guard
Bonilla was the best player on the court in the quarter final match up between Pace and Tampa Bay Tech. The young guard has a ton of talent and a strong skill set with deep 3-point range. Although she has 3-point range, she sometimes settles too much, where she should find ways to attack off the bounce more often and put pressure on the opposing teams defense making them guard her and try and keep her out of the paint.
