Chip Johnson | PG | Searcy | 2026
Freshman players on varsity usually have a learning curve. It takes them some time to get adjusted to the level of competition after coming from junior high. Chip is different though. She’s been battle tested on the AAU circuit, playing against some of the best teams and players across the country. This is why is looks so calm and poised running the team. Being a pg is not about getting shots up, it’s about leading on both ends of the floor. When receiving the outlet her head went straight down the floor looking to pass ahead. If no one was there or if she had the lane she could take it herself. Defensively I really liked her on ball pressure. She pressured with her feet, understood angles, and didn’t pick up silly fouls trying to reach. Chip keeps this up she will have a really good high school career.
Olivia Roberson | Guard | Searcy | 2023
Olivia has a skill that will go unnoticed by most people. Her ability to pass ahead takes strength, vision, and touch. She threw several on-target full court length passes to teammates. I mean with touch and leading them to the basket for the easy finish. This is harder than it looks and Olivia made it look so easy. In the half-court she was calm and never rushed. Even when she was pressured she was able to still see the floor and deliver on-target passes to teammates cutting to the rim for the lay-in. Her demeanor and vision will be needed as Searcy heads into conference play and tries to win a championship.
Kloey Fullerton | Guard | Harding Academy | 2024
Kloey is a steady combo guard that easily moved between point guard and the wing. She has the IQ and ability to run the point, make plays for others, score by putting the ball on the floor or spotting up for the jumper. She showed she understood tempo by knowing when to push the ball and when to slow it down. Kloey got her team organized before initiating the offense and made sure to communicate with her teammates.
Amelia Rogers | PG | Lakeside | 2024
Amelia is a quick point guard that uses her athleticism well. When you are being pressured and double teamed in the back court you have to know when and how to use your athleticism, when to change direction, and how to change speeds. When her team was able to get out and run in transition, Amelia did a good job of attacking and finishing. In the half-court, she has a nice pull-up jumper in the mid-range and can deliver passes in traffic. As Amelia goes, the team goes. She played with a good pace against Vilonia’s pressure defense which will be key entering conference play.
Allie Pollock | Forward | Lakeside | 2023
When you have a forward that can dominate inside and stretch the defense with their shooting ability, that can only help your team be successful. Allie has soft hands around the basket. She caught passes in traffic, scored the ball in traffic with her soft shooting touch and could use either hand on offense. Allie used her body well when on the low block to get position for the easy score. When on the perimeter you have to get a hand up because she showed she can make the catch and shoot three-pointer.
