Someone that competes off of two feet with a smart head on her shoulders is Ruth Tauber Ruth Tauber 5'5" | SG Wahlert Catholic | 2026 IA of Wahlert Catholic High School. Tauber understands what she does best with her size. She has a flamethrower of an arm from deep off the catch and she can also get others around her involved at a high rate. Offensively, she knows when the defense is going to over-play her shoot and she can drive off of that into open spacing, usually always leading to an open attempt for one of her teammates. Defensively, she is solid. Quick hands and fast feet while she makes smart choices of when to go for a steal or not. All in all, Tauber is going to post some more impressive numbers this Winter starting in a month. There is no doubt about that.

Ruth Tauber Ruth Tauber 5'5" | SG Wahlert Catholic | 2026 IA has proven her reliability early in post season play for the Wahlert Catholic Eagles. In their first matchup of regionals Tauber had a perfect performance from the floor, going 5/5 from the floor including two three-pointers. In addition the UNI softball commit tallied 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals to boot, showing early that she can consistently deliver when given the opportunity. On a 17-4 Wahlert squad Tauber has averaged 10.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists this season. I’m really looking forward to Tauber and the Eagles’ matchup this week versus Montincello.

Tauber will be continuing on her athletic journey by playing Softball at UNI following these next two years. This just speaks to the type of athlete and gamer she is. This is someone that has worked in multiple sports for years and this past six months, she locked in her future at the following level because of that perseverance. This just demonstrates that hard work pays off. Tauber exemplifies what it means to be a competitor and that should be on full display for two more years to come.
