She continues to show why she’s arguably the fastest end-to-end player on the court with the ball—defenders think they have the angle, and she flips it in a blink. Rogers remains one of the top unsigned seniors in the state, thanks to her speed, athleticism, and growing skill set.

Rogers brought a different gear with her speed and explosiveness. The ultra-quick guard consistently got to the rim with ease and didn’t settle, but she also showed growth by knocking down multiple perimeter jump shots. That combination of downhill pressure and outside shooting makes her extremely difficult to guard.

is a very smooth guard that is among the best in the state. She is also part of the two-time State Champion Canyon View Jaguars who are looking to three-peat this season. Aaliyah has great size and length for a guard, and she is a shut down defender. She is the current 5A Defensive Player of the Year in Arizona. She is also excellent on the offensive end. She is a terrific ball handler and she can shoot from all 3 levels. Aaliyah’s recruiting is picking up, and she will be one of the most exciting players to watch this season.

Rogers is another player whose stock is continuously going up. Her perimeter defense is a thing of beauty. Her quickness makes it very hard to beat her off the dribble. Her confidence grew playing more of the point guard spot, to where she is equally comfortable on or off the ball.

The quickness and athleticism of Rogers were on full display for everyone. On offense, her first step was so much faster than the defenders’ it was scary. She was able to get to the rim at will, and when the defense helped, she was able to dump off the easy passes to her teammates. On the defensive end, she showed why she might be the best perimeter defender in the state. Opposing ballhandlers saw that she was extremely tough to beat off the dribble.

Rogers came up big in the final period. She hit some clutch shots and played excellent on the ball defense helping shut down the opposing perimeter players. Aaliya finished with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

is one of the top Combo Guards in Arizona. She helped her team win a State Championship as a Sophomore and she showed tremendous leadership and poise during that run. She is an outstanding shooter. She can score from mid-range, in the paint, and is deadly from 3-point range. She is a long defender who can guard 3 positions. Tremendous upside.

Rogers is coming off a championship season but that hasn’t stopped her from putting in that extra work. She is now more than capable of playing the combo guard role. Her ballhandling and passing ability have improved as has her perimeter shot. You add that with her explosive first step on offense and defensive ability and now you have maybe the best two-way guard in the state.

You could see the growth in Roger’s game as her skill level is catching up with athletic ability. She can go by most defenders any time she wants but at the EXPO her play making skills were on display. Add in the fact she was hitting perimeter shots; we saw why she is one of the more complete guards in the state.
