She became more comfortable facing up, handling on the outside, and knocking down shots. That made her a tougher cover and opened up the rest of what she already does well.

Flowers brings something you can’t teach — edge. The senior forward plays with tenacity and energy, and she’s been through big-time games before. That experience shows up in physical matchups, in rebounding battles, and in those loose-ball situations that flip momentum. She’s not backing down from anybody. If this game gets physical — and it usually does at this level — Flowers will be right in the middle of it.

Flowers left her imprint on the game against Campo Verde in a big way. She was excellent facilitating from the high post, showing strong court vision and touch as a passer, while also putting pressure on defenders off the bounce. Add in her strength in the paint and ability to finish through contact, and it’s easy to see why the Cal State Dominguez Hills commit is regarded as one of the top forwards in the senior class. She displayed a complete, physical, and impactful performance in the win.

Flowers came up big for the Jaguars in their recent win, showing her versatility as a forward. She was effective operating in the paint, using her strength and positioning, but also stepped out and confidently knocked down perimeter shots. That inside-out ability makes her tough to guard and adds a new dimension to her team’s offense.

Jaila is a physical presence inside who plays with grit and effort. She has a strong post-game with good footwork and touch around the rim, but what’s exciting is her expanding perimeter skillset. That combination of strength and developing finesse gives her next-level upside.

She is a big part of two-time State Champion Canyon View’s incredible rise to prominence. She is one of the strongest players in the state. She can literally control the paint on both offense and defense. She is versatile on the offensive end being able to finish around the rim in any situation. She can hit the mid range shots and she can create off the dribble. Her defense is outstanding and she is a very good rebounder. She is probably the biggest sleeper in her class in Arizona even though she is the reigning 5A Player of the year. She will play on the next level and you could very well see her on the D1 stage in a few years.

Flowers has been playing as hungry as anyone in the state. She’s proven that she is not only a winner during the school season, but also on the travel circuit. Her confidence is at an all-time high, and coaches have been noticing.

Flowers is another one whose recruiting is starting to take off, and her performance during the weekend backed it up. She was as tough as anyone I saw during the event. On both sides of the court, she just always seemed to want it more. Her offense continues to blossom, and offers are coming.

Jaila Flowers Jaila Flowers 5'10" | SF Canyon View | 2026 State AZ is one of the most decorated athletes in Arizona, and the Senior to be is looking to repeat as a State Champion in multiple sports to finish her amazing career. Last year alone, Jaila was on the State Championship Flag Football team, State Championship Basketball team (repeat from 2024) and the State Championship Track Team! She had a terrific Showcase, including a dominant performance in the Upper Class All-Star game at the end of the day, posting 18 points and dominating inside offensively and defensively. Jaila picked up a couple college offers at the Showcase and will be highly recruited her Senior season.

Flowers came out and overpowered whoever tried to guard her. Her ability to put the ball on the floor and get the defenders backpedaling was a thing of beauty. When she wasn’t bullying defenders, she showed off her improved outside jump shot. She picked up an offer not long after the event.
