This is an insane amount of point guards in our top 125. There are 30 lead guards ranked and honestly it could have been closer to 35. At the very top of the list is Katie Dinnebier, and deservedly so. She’s a very talented point guard who can do anything you ask of her on the floor. She can shoot it, get to the rim, pass it, and she is one of the best defenders in the entire state. Next you have Rachel Leerar who is a long and fluid athlete who can fill it up in a hurry. Leerar and #4 Caroline Waite are both players who can score almost at will. When their shots are dropping, not many players in the state can equal their scoring outputs. Then in the next tier you have players like Macy Gaskill, Molly Ihle, and Maggie Wilkins who all are very unique and have different skillsets. This is a very solid group of point guards from top to bottom.
Outside of the top ten, Kennedy Lein probably has the best chance to move up the quickest. She’s a lengthy point guard who is still trying to figure it out. She’s skilled and a good defender, but I want to really see her put it all together. Once she does, I think she’s going to rocket up the rankings because of her intangibles and her frame. I would not be a bit surprised to see her inside the top ten point guards by the time next summer is here.
