Continue ReadingI have done several articles on top duos but I am taking a look at some of the best inside outside combos in this series of articles. Here are just a few of those back for more next year. There is one trio as well.
Chiawana
Malia is one of the top post players in the state. She has made a name for herself as only a sophomore. She is tough in the paint and records double doubles on almost a nightly basis. Chiawana has a lot back next season with Malia being the focal point of the offense, the others should shine in a secondary role.
Highlights
Kaia is what you would probably consider a three with her 6’2 size. That said, she has guard like skilks to play inside and out. She is a good shooter who will get better. She has one of the more effortless shots from three that I have seen from any player. She is good in the open floor, with a high ability to finish. She can take it coast to coast and finish at the rim with tough shots. Chiawana will be a team on the rise next season led by these two juniors to be.rn
Gianna played well as another sophomore this season. She is a steady ball handler who can knock down shots from deep. With the attention that Ruud and Foster get, she should have plenty of opportunities to do just that next season. She has a nice touch from long range and can shoot it at a high percentage. rn
Ellensburg
Alana has a lot of length inside for the two time defending champion Ellensburg. They lost some interior play to graduation this season in top recruit Olivia Anderson Olivia Anderson 6’6″ | PF Ellensburg | 2023 State #37 Nation WA . That doesn’t mean the cupboard is bare. Alana can protect the paint with the best of them using her length. She is also capable of picking up some scoring slack left behind by Anderson. Although she might be a bigger volleyball recruit, she can hold down the paint in hoops. rn
Jameson is already a seasoned point guard after seeing the floor in every game of their two year win streak. She stepped it up this season as the point guard. She is a good one. she handles the ball with confidence and high IQ. She has a nice mid range jumper and can get to the bucket. One of her underrated skills is her defense. Ellensburg loves to pressure the ball and she is usually right in the middle of it. Once they get past the first line of defense, Marrs is there waiting for them.
Colfax
Brynn is one of the most highly sought after prospects in the state of Washington. She already holds offers from Stanford and Texas A&M. I am sure there are plenty more coming in. She has a unique skill-set at 6’2. She can do it all. All level scoring by putting it on the floor. She is a great post up player. She can shoot it from deep. She rebounds extremely well. Not much she doesn’t do well. An impressive player to watch and she will only be a junior next season. rn
At 5’11 she is more of a wing player but nonetheless I am giving her a guard label. She is a shooter and had a lot of good scoring games for Colfax this season. She tied for team high points in the state championship game with 18. Both these players have a lot of versatility with their size and skill set. If Colfax doesn’t repeat it will be an upset on paper. Both her and McGaughy earned all tournament honors for state champion Colfax. rn
