LBI Summer Showcase: Top Performing Forwards Part II

She has so much power and will bully her way right into the lane for a score. She uses her body to her advantage and can get inside with 2-3 power dribbles. She continued to play well with her back to the basket but she is a very good at finding teammates when she is facing the basket or knocking down the triple when needed. She shot the ball well and defenders must guard her at the three point line as she can knock down the triple when she is left open. She is a clear leader and good decision maker with the basketball. Gabby's game is expansive and it is difficult to find weaknesses. She can play virtually every position and her size at 6'0 makes her a night for opponents looking to stop her. She has great handle with the ball and ability to shoot over the top of defenders. Excellent speed as she is able to seamlessly get up and down the floor in transition. Her ability to defend may be her most impressive trait as she did an excellent job defending full court and has the ability to stay in front of much smaller players despite her size. Ny'onna is a multi-positional player who can play anywhere from the 1 to the 3. She showed off her incredible shot making ability along with her defensive ability this weekend. Her 5'10 frame allows her to easily be able to attack the rim and has more than enough speed to get there. She has excellent ball handling skills and she is a nightmare to defend. When you put the ball in her hands, coaches can trust that she can make things happen. She is a strong rebounder and excellent defender as she can guard multiple positions. She flys up and down the court as if she has been shot right out of a cannon. She runs the floor about as hard as you'll find and she is a superb rebounder. She will attack the glass for every rebound and will dive after every loose ball. She is always on u0022gou0022 mode and is as tough as nails. She is the player that can fit into any system because coaches won't need to run a play for her. She will find her way and will adjust as needed. She is a very good passer and finisher in transition. She is very little flash but plenty of substance. She is the player that will make the right play and will take the right shots. She has a nice mid range game and can consistently knock down the 15-17 footer. She plays defense and will rebound like a big. She does all the right things and coaches must find minutes for her as she is a highly efficient player. Makayla will carry the bulk of the Salisbury Lady Hornets offense this season as the team looks to capture a 3rd straight state title.
