About Sheree
Expert Analysis

Sheree Gidney has been a dominant presence in the paint her whole high school career. She goes to battle for some rebounds, and she does well sealing off her opponents to get the entry pass and bucket. This season, she expanded the floor even more popping out around the perimeter and showing off her range shooting the ball. She was making nice passes up the court off of steals or rebounds finding her teammates cutting to the basket on fast breaks.

The star of Hickory Ridge and the team’s fearless leader, Sheree finished with 18 points and she was everywhere. She scored some tough buckets, including one where you drove it down the length of the floor right into the paint, gave her defender a ball fake and scored the lay – up. Over the last several years, Sheree has become a dangerous 3 level player that can attack the rim, shoot the 15 footer and drain the 3-ball. Her ability to handle the ball is very impressive, she has a lot of quickness for her size and has unreal strength. She will body defenders right out of her way and can impose her will at times. Superb night for this senior standout.

Sheree Gidney was certainly putting in work in the paint constantly relocating to find the open space and get the entry pass. She was tough on the other end, too, being an obstacle in the paint for her opponents. She was grabbing steals on the press making the right dish to her teammate cutting to the hoop. She hustled up the court scoring on fast breaks even getting some old fashioned three point plays.

tossed in 11 points in a win over Central Cabarrus. Both players are averaging double-figures for the Bulls this season. Sheree is a versatile player who finishes well in the paint. Ma-kaela is the team’s motor. She pushes in transition, and she is a force on defense. Hickory Ridge is currently 7 and 1 on the season.

Sheree Gidney is certainly going to be a leader for her team this year. She’s vocal seeing the whole floor on defense and communicating what she sees to her teammates. She is dominant in the paint showing her strength as she posts up for some points. Her power dribbles and step around moves are sure to get her the chance to score. She goes after rebounds on both ends of the court, too.

Sheree continued to be impressive this past weekend showing her talent at multiple position. She has so much power and will bully her way right into the lane for a score. She uses her body to her advantage and can get inside with 2-3 power dribbles. She continued to play well with her back to the basket but she is a very good at finding teammates when she is facing the basket or knocking down the triple when needed. She shot the ball well and defenders must guard her at the three point line as she can knock down the triple when she is left open. She is a clear leader and good decision maker with the basketball. I believed she is poised for a breakout year at Hickory Ridge this season.

Sheree had a very impressive game Friday night. She is able to effect the game in nearly every capacity. She’s an above average rebounder who boxes out well seems to always fight for loose balls. She excels with her back to the basket and is extremely strong down low as she has no problem moving defenders out of the way. She also impressed with her ball handling skills as she was able to drive toward the basket without losing her dribble and was also able to step back and hit the 3. She can be a mismatch nightmare as she can get by bigger defenders and post up smaller defenders. She had a very nice move in the paint where she hit a fadeaway jumper off one leg. I really like how her overall game has developed.

is tough in the paint moving all around the lane to get open. She can catch the pass, turn to square up, and score some points, or she can handle the ball driving hard to the hoop for her points. Don’t leave her open around the perimeter either as she can definitely hit the three point shot. On defense, she’s aggressive going after rebounds and using her length to block shots preventing her opponents from getting to the basket.

Sheree Gidney was aggressive going after rebounds doing a nice job of keeping her opponent where she wanted them to be able to turn and box out on defense. Her ability to shut down the opposing offense in the paint was critical for the Bulls’ victory. She hustled up the court on fast breaks using power dribbles to get into position for some transition points. She continues to show how she can dominate on both ends of the court.

Gidney ran the grassroots circuit with Team United 17U Calhoun and is a multi-sport athlete who adds volleyball and track to her athletic resume. She will take to the court with a Ragin’ Bulls team that should have plenty of veteran players. Gidney can connect on midrange jumpers and presents problems near the basket with her determination to score. Her work around the rim also includes grabbing rebounds and she will deliver in the open floor as a ball distributor and all-around hustler. Gidney helped the 4A Ragin’ Bulls to a 19-9 record (10-2 in conference play).
