Her aggressive approach is unmatched the first three minutes of me watching Team Prime Nation ‘s first game I realized she was one of the best player’s on the floor. From making full court passes to being a pest on defense and getting out in transition for easy layups, she impacted every aspect of the game. To confirm my evaluation, I stopped by the second game and Towne was dominant, a true game changer. Team Prime Gave up a run, but once she returned, everything settled and the game shifted back under control. In my opinion, Towne could be the best player in the State of Illinois.

Towne has truly separated herself over these first couple of AAU weekends, and even going back to her last game of the high school season as a junior. The full aggression on the offensive side is there, and she is not afraid of the moment, the contact that comes with attacking the rim, or letting it fly from 2-5 feet beyond the arc. However, what also stood out this past weekend was her defense against one of the top prospects in the country, and when you are showing yourself as a two-way player that can be elite against tough competition, the college offers will continue to come in.

Towne played a major role in the comeback win over NH 1848. She gave her team a real spark on both ends, knocking down shots from the outside and coming up with defensive stops that turned into easy points. She also stayed aggressive attacking the rim, which helped her get to the line in key moments and played a big part in closing out the win.

In game one, Towne settled back into a complementary role for Nazareth despite being one of the best prospects, let alone guards, in the state. In the championship game, she flipped the switch and reminded everyone why there is a gap between her and others. The confidence to shoot from deep, the quickness and vision to create for others, and the stamina to stay on the floor without needing a break all showed up when it mattered most. She capped off her junior year in incredible fashion. | Tournament Average – 10ppg, 5apg

Each year, Towne has brought a different impact to this Nazareth program, and this season she has stepped into the role of a playmaker. Her ability to stretch the floor commands a ton of attention and pulls the defense all the way out. But if they come too far, she has the quickness to get by, draw the defense, and create for others. | 17 pts, 5 asts, 4 rebs

Sharpshooter Sophia. One of the best shooters in Illinois from three-point range. Her quick footwork opens her up for tough shots even when defenders are putting on pressure-and they always are. Defensively, you can see her improvements. Her movements are more controlled and defends without fouling. She’s a great combo of elite shooting and smart defense.

Towne has put herself in the category as one of the most aggressive combo players in the state. She’ll be key to how successful Nazareth is this season. She’s a player who can score the ball by her own creation or off the catch and within the system. There will be games where she has to be the best player on the floor, and then games where she will be a swing piece based on her ability to shoot and close out games.
