Elena has good length as a point guard and her instincts stood out with Team Eight at the PGH Illinois Sophomore ID Camp. She anticipated a pass in the gap, picked it off, and immediately started the fast break. Elena attacked downhill to score a bucket, shot the ball confidently from three, crashed inside to secure offensive rebounds, and threw a pass ahead on a rope for an assist after grabbing the defensive rebound. She worked hard on the defensive end. Her fast feet and quick lateral movement cut off a drive, then forced a dribble turnover.

Vlahos’ impact on the game came in a ton of ways, but the ones that stood out to me were her ability to slow down whoever was in front of her. She plays defense without the goal to steal the ball, but to make her matchup think twice.
