All four of the PGH Kentucky scouts/writers were in the building and we all walked away very impressed by this class. There’s bound to be players mentioned in multiple articles by different scouts, but every player deserves to have something written about them after their showing on Saturday. When I was trying to decide how to break down these articles, I ultimately decided to turn the notes I had for each player at the event into a series of articles. I’m putting them out numerically based on jersey number, so below you will find the notes I had down for #257-262.
Maggie Simons
5’8 | Guard | Nicholas County HS | WV Thunder 15U GUAA Johnson
#257 – Consistent standout throughout the day. Has always stood out in the 2027 class, but it just seems like she’s gotten bigger, faster, and stronger this offseason. Impacts the game in a variety of ways. Poised and in control. Tough defender with the ability to stay in front and get a lot of blocks. Made smart decisions with the ball. Scored in many different ways from layups to floaters to jump shots. Really facilitated well. Strong handles. Just super solid all-around and a difference maker.
Greylee Kramer
5’8 | Bishop Brossart HS | Next Kenadi Level Kenadi Level 5'1" | PG McLean County | 2026 KY
#258 – Played very hard from start to finish. Great help defense and movement on the defensive end. Strong box outs and when she didn’t come up with the rebound, she was often involved in helping her team come up with it. Got some good blocks. Ran the floor consistently and made good passes.
Brynlee Walker Brynlee Walker 5'8" | PG Rowan County | 2027 State KY
5’8 | Guard | Rowan County HS | ETA Thunder
#259 – The kind of player any coach would love to have because you never have to question her effort or value. Contributes in many ways and can be a glue player that makes everything flow smoothly. Has good size and length, especially for a player that can bring the ball down the floor. Also very effective playing off of the ball. Good ball handling skills. Made multiple impressive, strong passes. Used both sides of the floor well. Attacked gaps, finished at the rim, set good screens, and knocks down shots.
Emily Spainhour
5’9 | Forward | New Albany HS (IN) | Indiana Flight South
#260 – Strong and very active on the boards. While she can be effective down low, she really stretches the defense with her shot. A very good and consistent shooter who has deep range on her shot. Finished through contact inside. Consistently got to the line and knocked down free throws. Showed she has multiple good post moves she can use in the post. Versatile player.
Loren Macy
5’9 | Forward | Bethlehem HS | Kentucky Premier
#261 – What Macy brings to the court can make a huge difference no matter who she’s playing with or against. Was simply relentless on the boards and made everyone else around her work harder. Never once did I have to question her effort. Grabbed a ton of offensive rebounds and finished well on putbacks. Has great touch and various moves she can use down low. Can also knock down shots well. Consistently ran the floor. Played tough defense. Made great outlet passes. Set good, strong screens that effectively got her teammates open and also recognized when to roll on those screens.
5’9 | Metcalfe County HS
#262 – Solid play throughout the day. Crashes the boards hard and can get a lot of rebounds through pure effort. Was disruptive defensively, staying straight up and altering shots or getting her hands on the ball off of passes. Tough to stop down low and once she’s able to finish consistently on both sides of the rim, will be a matchup nightmare. That being said, she already had some nice finishes at the rim throughout the day. Didn’t hang her head after misses and stayed with it around the rim. Ran the floor well also.
