In today's game there are so many moving parts that impact change. One of the biggest being the difference that transfers make at the high school level. Below are five transfers that occurred this offseason throughout Iowa high school basketball. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

[player_tooltip player_id='342185' first='Devon' last='Carlile']: Urbandale ---> Dallas Center Grimes

Devon Carlie joined up with the DCG Mustangs a year after they are coming off of a state championship. This can be intimidating to some but not Carlile. She is a crafty guard that is very good in the catch and shoot game. She works off of the ball well and always finds seems in the defense, helping her team score easy buckets near the hoop. The Mustangs are returning a good amount of players from a season ago, we will see if they can carry the momentum from last years championship into this one. They definitely will have the every ability to do so in my book.

[player_tooltip player_id='509632' first='Nakia' last='Ollivierre']: AGWSR ---> Waterloo West

[player_tooltip player_id='509632' first='Nakia' last='Ollivierre'], the West Point women's basketball commit, is going to move up big time when it comes to high school basketball this season. Ollivierre will move from AGWSR high school to Waterloo West in hopes of helping the Wahawks back to the State Playoffs, after going 22-3 last season. Up until now, I've seen nothing but domination by Ollivierre in the high school game. If she moves up to the biggest level of high school ball in Iowa, while also dominating at that same rate, it's going to be eye opening. It's going to prove that a lot of recruiters missed out on a pivotal player.

[player_tooltip player_id='311380' first='Sydney' last='Huber']: CR-Xavier ---> Mt. Vernon

I am not trying to put pressure on Huber in anyway but she has all the ability and intangibles to become a break-out star this winter at Mt. Vernon high school. Huber averaged 9 PPG and just under 5 RPG last season at Xavier high school, while helping her team make it back to the State Playoffs. There are a lot of positives to Huber's game overall. She can spread the floor with her shooting ability but she also possesses good length. To the point that she can capitalize on mismatches against smaller defenders near the post. This length advantage also plays in her favor as a shooter because she possesses the ability to simply rise above others and shoot at any given moment. Huber has a bright future and everyone is going to see that this winter at Mt. Vernon high school.

[player_tooltip player_id='246148' first='Kendall' last='McDaniel']: Indianola ---> West Des Moines - Valley

[player_tooltip player_id='246148' first='Kendall' last='McDaniel'] is a fantastic basketball player that uses her size and strength whenever she wants, so that she can dominate the opponents around her. This transfer isn't just interesting because of who Valley high school is receiving but because of what they can now accomplish with McDaniel on the floor. This addition to their roster will give UNI commit [player_tooltip player_id='246134' first='Elise' last='Jaeger'] more freedom to move around. She will be able to move down to the 4 spot and play more of a wing position, creating a mismatch in her favor, basically whenever Valley wants it. If there is any sort of connection between McDaniel and Jaeger, it's going to be a long night for most teams that matchup to play the Tigers. Something I'm very excited seeing first hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='311351' first='Amani' last='Jenkins']: Des Moines North ---> Johnston

The powerhouse that is the Johnston Dragons got a little bigger in the offseason. This move happening with the transfer of [player_tooltip player_id='311351' first='Amani' last='Jenkins'], the #2 player out of the 2025 class in Iowa, coming over to the Dragons prior to her junior high school season. Jenkins is a powerhouse. A dominate center in the middle of the lane that can hold her own against the best forwards/centers in the country. She currently holds a bunch of Division-1 offers and is looking to stack onto those this winter while she helps the Dragons back to the State Championship. This time, with the Dragons walking away as champions. Something that is more then doable and will be talked about in an article next week when we cover our pre-season rankings.

In today's game there are so many moving parts that impact change. One of the biggest being the difference that transfers make at the high school level. Below are five transfers that occurred this offseason throughout Iowa high school basketball. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
