DCG is a program that always brings a seasoned product to the floor. They run great offensive schemes, they move the ball effortlessly, and they play for one another. Those three things can take you places in this high school game. Someone from their Senior group, that is still deciding on what she is going to do next year is

. Carlile came to DCG two years ago and she has made her mark over-time on both ends of the court. She has been someone that has knocked down shots off the catch, she has defended like her life depends on it, and she has shown that she really does care about this game of Basketball. If those things all stay constant the next few months, who know where they/she could take things. She does have a level of college ability to her game, it’ll just really come down to what she wants to do in the end.

Dallas Center – Grimes is going to return this Winter after a State Tournament trip, looking for their identity in the production category. Their leader from years past is gone due to gradation so they will have a lot of opportunity and someone that I expect to make the most of those chances is

at the guard position. Carlile transferred over moving into last Winter and she did a little bit of everything for her team, at a thorough rate throughout. She scored with easy takes to the bucket, she knocked down jumpers at Will, she rebounded on both sides of the floor, she created steals in the half court, all while playing solid defense. I think this Winter could be her best season to date if she is motivated enough. This team has 5-6 players that could of taken this spot but if Carlile builds on her numbers from the past, she will be one of their “Top Dawgs” in the production department by the end of her Senior year.

switched high schools and it has helped in several different aspects of life. Carlile had the chance to be apart of her Mustang’s team run a year ago to State and she is going to play a even bigger role this upcoming season as her group tries to replicate what they have done the past few years at the Varsity level. Carlile is a solid option to have on your team. She can produce while attacking off the dribble, she can knock down shots that are rotated back to her, and she is better than average at the guard position on defense. She has a few D3’s interested at this point so she will have options as to where she might want to go following this next year but we will have to wait and see.

Carlile is putting together a noteworthy Spring so far with her All Iowa Attack program. Throughout the high school season she was a prospect that could be relied on in big moments even though she had some other impressive prospects on her team. This AAU season it’s more of the same. She is making the smart play and keeping things simple in the grand scheme of things. I think that her best ability is that she can score from all three levels but she doesn’t settle. She has displayed that she has a positive attitude, while being someone that can make a play or three down the stretch of a close game. I’m not sure where she is going to commit to at the end of her career but I do know that there are a few college coaches who are interested in her talents. If she stays on the track she is currently on and she wants to play basketball at the end of the day, she will have that option but we are still a year away from all of that so right now she will just focus on the season at hand.

compete a few times this past AAU season but what I saw on Saturday was much different. During AAU, Carlile liked to shoot from the outside a lot. She would always come down the floor, looking for open space so that she could create a shot from deep. She did the same thing in this contest but instead of shooting the ball, she would catch, pump fake, and get to the hoop for a cleaner look inside the lane. When a player starts to mature more and more, they start to understand that just because a shot is open, doesn’t mean it’s a good one. Carlile wasn’t ever really open in this game from deep but she did a great job of forcefully driving by for a finish at the rim, through her defender. This DCG Mustangs team is serious. They are going to be in the 4A State Conversation all season long, they just need to worry about going 1-0 each night and things are going to play out in a favorable way for everyone involved.

. Throughout the entire season, Carlile moved between the 1 and 2 spot on the floor, displaying the ability to bring up the ball or play the shooting guard position. When she has the ball in her hands she is a constant and effective distributor to those around her. She attacks her opponents hips, makes others commit to her on the drive, and gives a nice pass to the open teammates around her. When she moves to the 2 spot, she has the ability to get hot from deep. She knows to be ready at all times on the perimeter and that she could get a pass for a jumper at any moment. Carlile just transfer to DCG high school for her 2 remaining high school years. Joining a program that is coming off of a state championship can sometimes be tough but I think she will fit in just fine. If she plays with confidence, she is going to shine this winter for the Mustangs. She certainly did that this spring/summer.

had herself an impressive spring with her Waukee Jam Girls team. The 5’7 point guard knocked down most of her open looks, created for others wether it was off of the dribble or off of the catch, and set up her teammates for success on both sides of the floor. That last part is what’s most important to me. A point guard MUST be a conscious and efficient leader at all times, no matter what. Carlile showed that all spring long while helping her team succeed. Coming into this ranking update she is placed at #37 with some room to grow. If she keeps working hard and keeps displaying all that stuff I listed above, she will keep moving up on this list as times goes on.

started off her live period weekend with a bang by recording 8 made three pointers in her Waukee Jam teams win on Friday. Carlile is an efficient point guard who controls pace and the play of the game to a T, whenever the ball is in her hands. She always has the ability to knock down shots on rotation and that was no different in this contest. The only difference was that her teammates noticed early on that she was feeling it from long range and kept feeding her the ball, keeping her shooting hand hot throughout the entirety of the game. Something you love to see from a player who is dedicated to the sport and puts a lot of work into her craft.

Efficient point guard who leads her team by example. Controls tempo and pace of the game in its entirety, knocks down open shots when the ball is rotated to her, and has an unreal combination of handles/passing/vision in the full court. Isn’t afraid of confrontation or physicality but more-so welcomes it. Another player to know out of the 2025 class moving into summer ball.

of the Waukee Jam 2025 team. Carlile was everything you wanted out of a point guard and more this weekend. A player who only recorded 1 turnover throughout 4 games, while simultaneously creating for her teammates and scoring the ball almost every time she let it fly. Carlile isn’t the most flashy player on the court but man is she good. Her efficient and consist play stood out this weekend and is a big reason the Jam Fam had the success they did at the Legacy Classic. Moving forward I’ll be keeping a close eye on Carlile, she maybe the state of Iowa’s best kept secret as a high-level player.
