in the lane. Jenkins, the 6’2 Center, is coming off of two awesome high school season as a junior and senior. Jenkins transfer into Johnston and helped lead the Dragons to two undefeated seasons. She also helped them to two consecutive 5A State Championships as well. As a player this is someone that understands her own ability and she has a lot of it. She can catch with her back and punish smaller defender near the bucket or she can work from the mid-rage and take her opponent to the outside. Defensively, she is someone that everyone has to worry about. If you don’t, she will probably come out of nowhere and get a tip or block in some form. It’s been a journey for Jenkins but it’s not over yet. Now she is ready to take things to the next level and show her worth in front of the Country. Something I’m sure she is excited about.

is an X-Factor for her Dragons team might be an understatement after what she has been doing as of late. Jenkins is a mismatch waiting to happen. With her natural size at 6’2, her physicality, and her smarts at her Center position, Jenkins is tough to handle. Offensively, she can and will go through you as a defender but she can also score over the top of someone smaller or she could use a series of pump-fakes of get around whoever is standing in her way if need be. This season Jenkins has also been able to knock down the three ball at a consistent rate, showing her range on that side of the ball. All of these things have been on full display to end this season and that was the case once again on Thursday in their Semi-final matchup against the AC Jaguars. In the first half Jenkins started off by scoring next to the bucket off of some great cutting action without the ball, then she started to step back and knock down some jumpers as well. Defensively, I would say she was just as productive. This is someone that can be the definition of a rim protector. She recovers to space really well and that is always a difference maker when she is on the floor.

of Johnston High School just recorded some strong performances to kick off this season and she should continue on that trend moving into Winter break. Jenkins has size, strength, physicality, touch on the ball, footwork, athletic ability, and she is aware of what’s going on around her at all times on both sides of the ball. These are all traits that make a Center or a Post, a good one. So it’s not suprising to see how things are going. She has been a vital piece to Johnston once again this season and that won’t slow down any times soon by the looks of it.

On Friday evening the Johnston Dragons took care of business and kept their continuous winning streak alive with another big W against Waukee High School. In this one, the force that could not and would not be stopped is

in the post. Jenkins, a Virginia Tech commit, dominated every single matchup that was thrown her way, from starting tip to the ending buzzer. She played an overall smart game of basketball and that led to her ending with 23 Points and 18 Rebounds. To almost record a 20/20 game, at the highest Class level in Iowa is nothing short of impressive. I just hope this showing really demonstrates to everyone what a prospect like Jenkins can really do. She plays with a lot of confidence and when everything is clicking, you better watch out because she is an extremely tough opponent to handle.

took the AAU floor this Spring/Summer with one goal on her mind and that goal was to show everyone watching that she can play at an elite level. Prior to this Spring, Jenkins reopened her recruitment from Marquette and quickly gained a ton of interest while competing with her
ETG Midwest Elite 3SSB
program. It didn’t take long for Jenkins to find her new home in Virginia Tech and she is going to be able to keep that momentum rolling into her upcoming Senior season with Johnston High School. This season, she is going to be look at as their main producer in the middle so as long as she does her job, the Dragons will see a lot of success as they try to bring home back-to-back, 5A State Titles.

following her Senior season at Johnston High School are going to be endless. Jenkins is a 6’2 Post with the mixture of balance, coordination, footwork, a soft touch, and situational knowledge that is better than most. She is the highest rated PF/C throughout the state of Iowa, no matter the age level and that has been obvious ever since she was young in her career at the high school levels. Jenkins will suit up with V. Tech next Winter as she looks to be an instrumental piece to that program success in the grand scheme of things.

I’m rather curious what

is going to do this Winter and at the next level at Virginia Tech. Jenkins is a high level player, that eats up space in the paint on both sides of the floor. She is someone that can finish on both ends of the basket, she can defend multiple positions, and she understands the X’s and O’s of the game. She is also very good at stepping into available space once one of her guards creates for her off of the dribble and she can rebound over most because of her mixture of balance, footwork, and soft touch near the hoop. She should be the most dominant Post prospect in this League but it’s not going to be easy. There are a lot of prospects to account for so we will just have to see.

The ETG Midwest E 17U Team just won 3SSB Nationals in double OT and this comes to no surprise to anyone that understood this roster from the beginning of the year. To kick things off this Spring I said that this group is EASILY a Top Five team in the country across all sponsored circuits and I’m glad they proved me right. A big reason for their success was because of additions like Virginia Tech Commit,

. Jenkins took over at the end of the game to give her team a chance to knock down a shot at the end to win it and it all worked out for them. Jenkins is going to be looked upon this Winter to be an important Senior presence with her Johnston Dragons team. So we will really see how much of a leader she can be and how great she can make the others around her. Something I’m sure she is going to thrive at.

of Johnston. Jenkins is the #1 rated Center/Power Forward out of her Class for a lot of reasons. She is one of the most physical players throughout the state, while being coordinated with a soft touch near the rim on both sides of the ball. Offensively, she can score with either hand with or without contact. Defensively, she can wall up against most others that may step up to score near the rim, no matter the given situation. This AAU season, Jenkins and her
ETG Midwest Elite 3SSB
team will have a chance to bring home a National Title for the 17U division on the Adidas Circuit. With the prospects that they have on roster, it’s not crazy to think they will run the table and make it happen at this point. They just have to make every play count like it’s their last and they should see some pleasing results.

of Johnston High School has had a busy life as it pertains to her recruitment, AAU season, and her national ranking. This AAU season Jenkins moved to compete with ETG Midwest Elite 2025 3SSB out of Omaha, she reopened her recruitment after a staffing change at Marquette, and she moved in the #81 spot on ESPNW for her Class. She has received a lot of collegiate interest to compete at the next level from D1 programs across the country as of late and she is being recognized at the national level for her ability on the hardwood. At this pace, this rating is only going to grow with time and so will her recruitment.
