AAU Season Recap: Stock Risers (Part I)

Over the spring and summer is the time when players develop, make improvements to their game and have the opportunity to compete in front of college coaches. Let's take a look at some prospects that raised their stock and picked up offers during the AAU season.    [player_tooltip player_id='494529' first='Macy' last='Spivey'] played at an extremely high level for [program_tooltip program_id='712782' first='Richmond' last='Heat'] throughout the AAU season. She has tremendous size and length for a shooting guard and she uses it well getting points in the paint and from the perimeter. Spivey is a big-time scorer and rebounder that is capable of putting up a double-double any time she steps on the court. She averaged 20 points along with 10+ rebounds at the Run 4 Roses and looked dominant against elite competition at the National Championship. Spivey has a ton of potential and looks primed for a big sophomore season for Rockcastle County.    [player_tooltip player_id='621973' first='Emily' last='Johnson'] boosted her stock during the AAU season playing for [program_tooltip program_id='712782' first='Richmond' last='Heat']. She is a true spot-up shooter that can really space the floor with her outside shooting ability. Johnson picked up 3 offers during the summer and looks to have a big senior year for Henry Clay this upcoming season.    [player_tooltip player_id='458928' first='Aubrey' last='Packer'] is a true competitor. The type of player that does whatever it takes for her team to win the game. Aubrey is very fundamentally sound and makes an impact on both ends of the floor. She is an excellent rebounder that always looks to put a body on someone when a shot goes up. I like the fact that she puts her team first. She knows her role and does not mind doing the dirty work. Packer has great touch around the rim, can hit the mid-range jumper and makes great passes out of the post. She is the oldest of 3 sister's that can all hoop and during the month of July she picked up 2 offers to play at the next level. I expect her to carry that momentum into the high school season and continue playing at a high level, as she enters her junior year at Bullitt East.    [player_tooltip player_id='376789' first='Ashlinn' last='James'] is a prime example of the level of talent that comes out of the city of Louisville. James has elite playmaking ability, court-vision, and is a very crafty finisher at the rim. She displays the leadership qualities you want in your starting point guard and she makes players around her better when she is on the floor. James' is the catalyst to [program_tooltip program_id='715742' first='Dana' last='Evans Elite'] becoming a prominent AAU program in Kentucky. She capped off the AAU season by helping her team become champions of the 2026 Aqua Division at the National Championship in Florida. Making the All-Tournament team as well. James received 5 D1 offers during the travel season and looks to remain as one of the top 2026 prospects in the state.    Naomi Maynard made major strides and really improved her game throughout the AAU season. She is well-known as a prolific scorer and a deadly long-range shooter. Maynard averaged 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 assist per game while shooting an efficient 38.2% from three and 73.6% from the free throw line for Arctic Rush 2026. She also had multiple games where she made 5+ three pointers. I must say when I saw her compete back in May covering the 16U division at the "PGH River City Run" she looked head and shoulders above the rest. She received her 1st offer this summer and looks to have a strong sophomore year for the new look Lady Rams this season.    [player_tooltip player_id='467609' first='Jaidyn' last='Gulley'] was a key contributor for Ashland's elite 8 team last season. I watched her compete back in June and from what I saw she has gotten much faster and improved her ability to finish at the rim. Gulley played with the WV Thunder S40 team during the AAU season and competed at a very high level against top-tier competition. Her play caught the eye's of college coaches as she picked up 8 offers over the summer. The Kittens have all their players returning from last season and look to win the 16th region once again and get back to the Sweet 16.
