We don’t hear too much about South Platte and their team but when we do, it’s usually because of the play of Senior Guard, Madison Cheleen Madison Cheleen 5'8" | PG South Platte | 2024 State NE . Cheleen is this teams undeniable leader in every imaginable way. Throughout her teams first 14 games this winter, they are sitting with a 10-4 record while Cheleen is leading her team with 16.6 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 4.9 APG, 3.1 SPG, and .5 BPG. As you can tell, without the play of Cheleen and things would be much different. She is leading this group in every positive category you can name and it’s not by mistake. Looking forward, this team goes as far as Cheleen can take them. She can continue this production but once an opposing team makes a game plan to get the ball out of her hands, someone else is going to have to step up. Who will that be? We will just have to wait and see.

Rounding off our Weekend Roundup is someone that we haven’t mentioned this past year but that is all about to change. This next player is one that does a little bit of everything for her team and that is Point Guard, Madison Cheleen Madison Cheleen 5'8" | PG South Platte | 2024 State NE of South Platte High School. Cheleen is her team’s heart and soul. This group has a couple of players who could win them some games but they really only go as far as Cheleen can take them. In their teams 40 point win on Saturday, Cheleen had 20 on 5-11 shooting, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. These numbers are just an example of how Cheleen is used to playing as she is actually averaging 17.5 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 5 APG during the 2023-2024 season to date. If she continues to produce at this rate, she is going to end this year as a top producer within the state throughout the 2024 Class. She just needs to stay hungry and it’ll be memorable winter.
