As anticipated, the event was nothing less than spectacular as many quality prospects competed for their schools. Of all the outstanding guards on Saturday, here are the ones who made plays that caught my attention.

She stole a pass on defense and out raced everyone to the rim, finishing with an and one layup. Begick worked for offensive rebounds, dished passes for assists, and hit pull up jumpers. She will be an impact player for an impressive Freeland team this winter.

She used a eurostep to score a transition layup in transition and scored another transition layup with a left-handed scoop. #10 Madison Stevens Madison Stevens 5’8″ | SG Milford | 2024 State MI (2024) is a fantastic SG for Milford. She finishes effectively using floaters and soft touch around the rim. Madison buried multiple 3’s and does well catching to shoot immediately. She sets up the offense well using her vision and poise handling the ball. She will be playing for Alma following her final campaign with the Mavericks this winter.
Caroline Reinke
Caroline Reinke
#15 Caroline Reinke (2027) was an unknown prospect who did not allow herself to remain hidden Saturday. She used many attack moves to create space and win 1 on 1 battles including a euro step and spin dribble. Caroline nailed a wing 3 and finished an impressive baseline drive with a reverse layup. In transition, she pushed the ball out and crossed over in front of the defender to keep her advantage. She stole passes, trapped the posts, and rebounded effectively. Caroline verbally congratulated teammates for their success and was verbally recognized for her effort by teammates on the bench. Overall Caroline is an exceptional prospect in the Sandusky program.
#7 Mia McLaughlin Mia McLaughlin 5’9″ | SG Frankenmuth | 2024 State MI was an effective scorer for Frankenmuth Saturday. She hit an impressive fadeaway jumper, finished with a burst at the rim, and drilled multiple 3’s from around the arc. Mia’s pull up game was on and her shooting made matching up a challenge for opponents.
Alyson Peterson
Alyson Peterson
Alyson Peterson (2026) CG is an outstanding up and coming guard for Frankenmuth. I remember seeing this girl play at this scrimmage last year on JV and thinking she would do great things: she did Saturday. Alyson made multiple 3’s and her ball pressure on defense was outstanding. She has a relentless motor and will force steals, trap posts, dive on the ground for loose balls, and never quit on a play. She scores at all three levels and moves the ball effectively to open teammates. Alyson will be a great addition to the Eagles back court this season.
Lexi Ringley Lexi Ringley SG Heritage | 2024 State MI got hot for Heritage as the day went on, she drilled mutliple 3’s from the wing, and hit multiple pull up jumpers in the mid-range. She caused turnovers using her long arms to deflect passes and that helped jump start the Hawks offense.
