Payton had a solid sophomore season, receiving an All-Conference Honorable Mention nomination and she elevated her game to earn All-Conference 2nd Team Honors in 2023. Payton has made a name for herself as a deadly 3-point shooter and she has become a threat to score downhill off the dribble as well. Her experience and poise under pressure will be important with the Chemics young freshman core. Payton is an offensive weapon who will greatly benefit from having capable ball-handlers who can attack downhill and kick the ball out to her for perimeter shots.

I’ve always been a big fan of Palmer’s game and would love to see her show off her skills at The Expo. Palmer has an offensive attack that coaches will appreciate. She’s a dangerous shooter from beyond the arc and can get her shot up even with a hand in her face. Palmer has a consistent and effective motion.

Payton performed at a high-level today for Midland at the SS16 Shootout on both sides of the ball. She showed her efficiency as a 3-point shooter, knocking down multiple triples. Payton has developed her game to attack downhill using combination dribbles and she scored a contested floater off the glass. Payton scored off two feet in the paint and blocked a shot on defense. She was all-conference last season and looks ready to lead a reloaded Chemics team on the rise.

Palmer can put up points. She can shoot with 3 point range off the bounce or the catch and it takes a very solid closeout to defend. Palmer is a fast finisher at the rim with her right hand.

Payton averaged 11 pts, 2 assists, 5 rebounds, and a steal per game. Her shifty ball handling can move the defense and open up lanes for teammates to score; Payton will need to put on a show against Cadillac for her team to play spoiler.

I’ve really liked Palmer as a prospect for a year or so now and last night is a perfect reason why. Palmer continued her dynamic scoring run against Bay City Central by scoring 29 points, aided by her hot shooting from beyond the arc. Palmer finished with a double-double by adding 10 boards.

Payton is a deadly 3-point shooter who will make you pay if you give her an inch. She drained six 3’s in a game last season with Midland and was considered an all-conference player by many in the SVL. Palmer shoots exceptionally well off the bounce or spotting up on the move. Payton has the reflexes and anticipation on defense to steal the ball, then breakaway. Palmer is a prospect with the offensive firepower we want to see at The Top 250 Expo.
