Amyah Heyliger
Amyah Heyliger
Amyah is small, but quick with good defensive footwork. I like her ability to control the game and get her team organized. She has exceptional speed and constantly puts pressure on the defense by advancing the ball and probing for openings. She moves well without the ball, setting screens and making sure the plays are run properly. Her shot form looks good and she’s very competitive.
Ava Redmond
Ava Redmond
Ava will see plenty of minutes in Coach Rod Hairston’s system as they play a high intensity, pressuring style all game. She is poised and intense and handles the ball well under pressure. She’s a good passer and can score from all over the court. She could have a starting spot locked down by the end of the season.
Courtney Jenifer
Courtney Jenifer
Courtney has been thrown into the fire early this season and so far, has held up well. She’s a natural point guard that looks to pass first. She has done a good job so far in scrimmages of running the offense and has shown good instincts and decision making. Physically, she is strong and can handle pressure fairly well. She’s not a high-volume shooter but I have seen her make shots and her form looks good. She knows how to use a screen and doesn’t need much room to get her shot off.
Ka’nai Pyatt
Ka’nai Pyatt
Tough and feisty defender which fits right in with this team’s personality. Very athletic with good footwork and always gets up the floor quickly in transition. Coach Dukes will always find minutes for a player like this.
Jayla is a speedy and scrappy point guard with a nice handle and nice shot form. With a lot of new additions to the Mt. Carmel roster she’ll have to fight for minutes, but watch out for her to break through.
