Winchendon gained the lead early from fast paced energy led from their guard plays and collectively causing turnovers. Winchendon was playing stifling defense which led to easy transition points that led to the lead at the half.
In the second half St. A’s turned up the energy very quickly playing excellent team defense and collectively speeding up the pace of the game. St. A’s had the momentum swing in their favor while playing excellent team basketball by getting early paint touches and second chance points. The game became within a one possession game by the 3rd quarter. St. A’s had a platoon of role players off the bench who carried the run into the 4th and helped sustain the lead. St. Andrew’s held Winchendon to just 4 points in the 4th quarter a full team defensive effort in a big win in a AA showdown.

Gomes is a talent that will catch most eyes and quickly did in this game. She was one of the leading scorers and had her fingerprints all over the game whether that was getting her teammates easy looks or getting to the basket. She brings a certain tempo to the game that simply cannot be replicated. Gomes cuts through defenses with her change of speed and direction to make her a tough cover for just about anyone. She is one of the best playmakers around and surely in the game with her making several passes, one in particular that was a wrap around the head, behind the back of her defender for an easy lay that would of definitively went viral on social media platforms. Making elite level plays that get people excited and her bench to the leave their feet are second nature to her and that is a wonderful skill to have.

Molly Sisson Molly Sisson 6’3″ | PF Saint Andrews | 2025 State New E has been a foundational piece for her team’s success and that was evident in this comeback win. Sisson was relentless and frankly needed to be fed more, when she got the ball in position it led to her getting to the free throw line, an open shot for her teammates or a fundamentally sound bucket down low. She was a hound on defense causing turnovers, jump balls from hustle plays and not letting the bigs get to their spots while also showing finesse by getting in the passing lanes to disrupt the flow of the opposing team’s offense. Molly was cleaning up boards, making outlet passes and generally making the game easier for her teammates.

Ingram was a smooth bucket throughout the game making tough buckets and getting her team to an early lead. Watching her play was graceful with a combination of strength, speed and the perfect blend of craftiness to make for the ideal scoring or combo guard. Ingram got through the lane to get easy lays in transition and was also a willing defender turning her hips and getting pressure on the ball from an early point. Ingram hit a tough misdirection step back 3 in an unconventional area of the court that got her teammates up screaming and got her team fired up again. Ingram is a standout player.
Maddison Krug Maddison Krug 6’4″ | PF St. Andrew’s | 2025 State New E (2025)/ 6-4 F/ St. Andrews / Bay State Jaguars
Maddison was a complete x-factor all game for St. A’s leading them in scoring as a role player in this game. Krug used all over her 6-4 frame to affect the game and making Winchendon have second thoughts about getting in the paint with multiple blocks. Krug was scrappy fighting for loose balls and was running the floor injecting energy in her team by playing a pivotal role in coming back in the second half. Maddison knocked down the extended midrange jump shot at an efficient clip and well as finishing most of her post up jump hooks. She also knocked down free throws to make her that much tougher as a big. Winchendon did not have an answer for Krug in this game.
Kayli Vesterhome (2025)/ 6-0 Wing/ St. Andrew’s/ Lady Rivals
Kayli brings brought an abundance of attributes to the game with her silky-smooth game. Vesterhome is a player that doesn’t take much to get going. She can excel in the halfcourt as well as using her quick feet and long strides to get out on the break for easy points. Kayli hit tough 3’s in the eyes of her defenders, created transition points from being in proper position while playing the passing lane, knocked down midrange shots, was a pest by disrupting the offense and also but certainly not least; she had a filthy dime to set her teammate up for an easy bucket. Kayli was doing a little bit of everything and was the universal player in this game.
