About Amira

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a multi-skilled point guard that can efficiently score at all three levels, as well as create scoring opportunities for myself and teammates on the court. I have great court vision and am aggressive offensively. I also enjoy playing strong defense, to stifle opponents, as well as to generate turnovers that lead to easy baskets off of fast break opportunities.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an enthusiastic learner, on and of the court. I have a passion for working hard to get better and using hard work as a tool to improve at all things that I want to be great at. This mentality includes staying committed to being the best basketball player that I can be.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in BSA, and have been involved in a local theater production company. I have earned dean's list honors as well.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have worked hard to develop and improve as a leader on and off the court. Improving in these areas have not just benefitted me as a player, it has benefitted me as a person, as well. The community service that I have participated in has perhaps been the most rewarding. Giving back to the community means utilizing resources to help the community in various ways.

What type of college are you looking for?

A place and environment where I can develop and improve as a player, a student and as a person. This would be an ideal place.

Amira showed a lot of confidence going into her bag with an assortment of moves. She executed a fadeaway of off the spin move that caught my attention from the next court. I needed a closer look and witnessed her get to the line repeatedly as defenders tried to contain her. Her shot was clicking and you could tell she knew that there wasn’t anyone on the court that could stop her from doing whatever she wanted to do.
