I had a lot of questions about how this team would perform but they have consistently stepped up and answered all of them. A player that has been a constant in this teams rise to success the past couple of seasons is [player_tooltip player_id='502228' first='Brynlie' last='Hadenfeldt']. Hadenfeldt is a versatile Combo Forward on the floor. She has the ability to move between the 3 and 4 spot at the moment, while evening being able to step into the Center role if need be. I would describe her play style as simple but calculated. She has always displayed balance, situational knowledge, quick decision making, coordination, and touch. This season for the Hawks, she is averaging 9 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 2.5 APG. With her ability to step out to the perimeter in any given offense, it creates a lot of mismatches. The type of mismatches that she can take advantage of either off of the dribble or while moving without the ball. The Hawks still have to play the back half of regular season schedule but they are going to face a lot of the same opponents they have already beaten. Jacobi is the type of player with a high motor and no quit. She is always working relentlessly on the court, no matter if it's scoring, rebounding, or defending. Throughout her Springville team's first 18 games, Jacobi is averaging 24.1 PPG on 52% shooting and 13.3 RPG. Like I said, these numbers are some of the best in the state in their perspective categories, if not thee best. It's pretty easy to say that you think someone is the best at something without any evidence but I think it's pretty obvious here what is going on. Jacobi can GO and that paired with her natural height is too much for opponents. The Orioles are currently sitting with a record of 11-7. They have a few more contests before the Playoffs come around. It seems like every season that Boswell takes the floor, she is a top leader in rebounding and scoring underneath the basket. This season for example, she is averaging 21.1 PPG on 43% shooting, while grabbing 20 RPG throughout her teams first 11 contests. Some pretty wild numbers for a team that averages 37.9 PPG and 35.6 RPG as a whole. The best way I could describe this situation to someone else is, what you see is what you get. Boswell stands at 5'11, with her team's next tallest player being 5'7 so this is kind of what you would expect. The tallest and most coordinated player for this group is putting up big numbers and because of it, her team has won some games this winter. Larsen has been a team leader since she stepped onto the high school floor last season. She was always an individual that others seem to look up to on a regular basis and that hasn't changed a bit coming into this 2023-2024 season. Throughout her team's first 10 games, Larsen is averaging 11.8 PPG on 36% shooting, including 37% from three and 86% from the free throw line. On a team that has really even scoring across the board, it is nice to see Larsen be the u0022lead dogu0022. She holds herself to a high standard and plays the game for the right reasons. When things get tough she never gets discouraged and not to mention, she is really skilled. Her mixture of speed, touch, and patience helps her compete on both sides of the ball at a higher rate than most. As for this season, Ollivierre has transferred to Waterloo West to finish out her high school career. In the beginning, I was curious to see how Ollivierre handled this change. Moving from a 1A school to a 4A school can be a big difference to some so I wasn't sure how she would react but she hasn't missed a beat. She has been fantastic in almost every way imaginable for her Warriors team. Within a program that already had a star in [player_tooltip player_id='314117' first='Brooklyn' last='Love'], it can be tough to come in a stand out but not for Ollivierre. She has taken the court and been her dominant-self. She is scoring from all three levels at some of the highest rates in the state, she is defending in both the half and full court throughout an entire ball game, and when it matters she is making game winning plays. The only thing more I can say is, West Point got a STEAL with this pick up.
