New names emerged and familiar high school season standouts showed their skills on the hardwood also. Here is the second group of 2025s who grabbed my attention on Saturday.
Melanin Holman Melanin Holman 5’6″ | CG Kenowa Hills | 2025 State MI (Michigan Drive 17U Vinson) dominated as one of the most athletic two-way guards in her class at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She secured a defensive board then flew down the court for a transition layup. Melanin stole the ball and completed an athletic spin dribble right layup at the basket. She has a relentless motor, which she uses to chase down ball handlers and cause steals. Melanin finished down hill drives at the rim off one and two feet, with and without contact all game. She is a unique athlete who makes the game look easy and has continued to impress since she won MVP at the Headliners Invitational last November (MOI Undecided).
Izzy Nooe is a physically and willfully strong PG for Mystics Black and she showed her toughness at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. Izzy took the ball through defenders like a running back hitting the gap in a defense; she finished multiple strong takes and elevated off two feet at the rim. Izzy bolted past her defender on a baseline drive to draw a foul and knocked down a smooth 3 pointer from the corner off the catch. She is a prospect who plays all out on both ends and sets the tone of toughness for her team. (MOI Education)
Highlights
Shakya Anderson Shakya Anderson 6'2" | PF Wyoming | 2025 MI

Shaya Anderson is a strong forward/center prospect (6’2) for West Michigan Drive 17U-Vinson who imposed her will inside at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She impressed me with her inside footwork and finishing at the Siena Heights Elite Camp and did so again last weekend. Shaya seals off defenders in the paint and used her length to finish a drop step at the rim. She made multiple baskets with defenders in her face and goes up strong through contact. Shaya gets to the line with her physical play and is a difficult matchup for opposing forwards to guard. She is a post prospect in Michigan who won’t stay hidden much longer. (MOI Education)
Reese Gohsman Reese Gohsman SG Milligton | 2025 State MI contributed for her Mystics Black team at both ends of the court on Saturday at the April Showers Classic. Reese played strong and determined basketball. She chased down and dived to save a loose ball going out of bounds; she powered up for a finish off two feet in the paint. Reese dribbled into a smooth mid-range jumper, used a step back dribble to drain a wing 3, and swiped the ball away from her opponent. Reese has the skills and effort coaches want to have on their team.
Tracy Ludescher
Tracy Ludescher
Tracy Ludescher played outstanding basketball for Mystics Black Saturday at the April Showers Classic. She is a lengthy SG/Wing with multi-level scoring abilities and versatility to play inside or on the perimeter. Tracy showed her range by knocking down a confident 3 pointer of the dribble from up top and also scored on a baseline drive. She moves well without the ball, scoring a back-cut layup to beat her defender. Tracy used a strong and assertive sweep move to beat her defender off the dribble and is a 2025 prospect who I look forward to seeing more of this spring.
