Melanin is a twitchy guard who can make a huge impact on both ends of the court. She made many plays to help Team 8 compete at The Expo on Saturday. Melanin showed her ability to distribute, dishing multiple bounce passes to teammates through traffic. She pressured opposing ball-handlers and created several steals. Melanin outworked everyone to secure an offensive rebound, then paused and exploded by her defender for a smooth scoop layup off the dribble. Melanin zoomed by her defender again from the corner to score a contested floater off two feet over the help.

Melanin is a prospect who I compare to the cartoon Roadrunner, she’s fast, twitchy, and runs circles around guards on both sides of the ball. Melanin can score run-out layups at will when she causes turnovers and I’m excited to see her compete at a high level in front of college coaches at The Expo.

Holman is a super athletic, shifty guard who uses her quickness to blow by defenders on the offensive end and lock up on the defensive end of the court. Her exceptional lateral quickness allows her to stay in front of even the fastest opponents, making her a formidable defender on the court. Her shot keeps improving every time I watch her play, and she hit a big step-back 3 from the top of the key just when her team needed a big shot.

(Michigan Drive 17U Vinson) dominated as one of the most athletic two-way guards in her class at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She secured a defensive board then flew down the court for a transition layup. Melanin stole the ball and completed an athletic spin dribble right layup at the basket. She has a relentless motor, which she uses to chase down ball handlers and cause steals. Melanin finished down hill drives at the rim off one and two feet, with and without contact all game. She is a unique athlete who makes the game look easy and has continued to impress since she won MVP at the Headliners Invitational last November (MOI Undecided).

Holman was the most athletic player on the floor. Her combination of speed, strength, and jumping ability is off the charts! And she showed that by getting a monster block on a much taller player that has committed to play Division 1 basketball. She threaded the needle on her pass to Flint for the winning shot, and her passing skills have probably been getting overlooked because of other amazing things she does on the court. She finished the night with eight points, six rebounds, and multiple assists and steals. She was my choice as a breakout player, and she showed me that I made an excellent choice.

Holman has great athleticism and speed. She is a hustle player that is always chasing down long rebounds and, if there is a loose ball, she will be the one coming up with it. She finishes strong around the rim and has a nice outside shot.

wowed the crowd with her basketball abilities Sunday at the Headliners. She plays in another gear on offense and defense. Melanin scored at will in transition and the half court game: 3’s, jumpers, and finishes were no problem. Her endless motor to create havoc on defense and rebound the ball makes her a complete prospect with the athleticism to be special. Melanin took home the MVP award and will be an exciting prospect to see play for Kenowa Hills this winter.

has skyrocketed up our rankings since the Top 250 Expo; she showed us why at the Headliners Invitational Sunday. Melanin dominated on both sides of the ball: flashing her freakish athleticism. Game Notes: sprints to save an errand pass and hits a corner 3, high loft entry pass, relentless rebounder, aggressive on-ball defense, fast closeouts, behind the back assist, baseline drive reverse finish, and help side block. Melanin is an outstanding prospect from Kenowa Hills with the athleticism, two-way game, and endless motor to play next level basketball. She was the undisputed MVP for session two.

is a 2025 CG who keeps climbing the charts as she showcases her athletic ability and fine tunes her game. Melanin succeeded at everything at the Headliners Sunday; she dominated on defense by deflecting passes, blocking shots, and applying pressure. Melanin has amazing leaping ability and make up speed to bait passers into turnovers. She scored at will from inside and knocked down a 3 in the corner. Melanin makes other players look like they are moving in slow motion because of her athleticism. Melanin earned the honor of Headliners Invitational MVP for session two and I look forward to seeing her compete for Kenowa Hills this winter.
