About Kylie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to play both physical offense and defense and enjoy going up against bigger or just as physical players. It doesn’t matter the score I play like it’s a close game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On the court I want to know where the ball is and find the openings on offense or direct the ball to where I think we can get a score. On defense I want to have a good visual on the floor and force either bad shots in the paint or for them to kick it out. Off court I am totally different and very outgoing and love joking with teammates.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am apart of my schools student council, I am part of a faith based group with other athletes at my school, I am planning getting my volunteer hours in to join the honor society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

From working with young kids at my job I learned how to listen to what they want and how to be creative in leading or helping with activities. I’m not afraid to take control of something that I have experience with or take in opinions even I don’t have knowledge.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

On the court as a freshmen getting a varsity spot and learning how to play at a higher level on fly and adapting a fast pace. Off court I balance school, sports and working especially in the summer.

What type of college are you looking for?

Any college that has the programs I am interested in and has the right overall fit for me.

Olson has been gradually raising her game ever since we saw her play for the first time two summers ago. Things were no different at Sunday’s PGH Expo, where Kylie was a standout performer all day long. Standing at 6’0 with a large, well-muscled frame, the NRHEG junior is a dominant presence in the paint. Olson’s post moves and sheer strength were no match for most defenders on Sunday. Kylie also displayed some versatility at the Expo, excelling in the pick-and-roll, and knocking down open shots from beyond the arc. With an endless work ethic, and the insatiable desire to keep improving, Olson’s trajectory is only up from here.
