This past weekend, the Girls EYBL Session 2 and the Nike Tournament of Champions Spring Classic took place at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa. There was plenty of next-level talent on display from court to court.

Here, I take a look at more of the standouts that I personally watched:

[player_tooltip player_id='660337' first='Sophie' last='Morales'] Seton Catholic Prep (Southwest Premier) – Morales played her normal stellar lead guard role. She was quick with the ball and kept pressure on opposing defenses. What I liked most is that she showed a much-improved outside shot that made her more dangerous.

[player_tooltip player_id='623903' first='Makayla' last='Carter'] Marana Mountain View (Team Arizona Red) – Carter showed that she is one of the more improved players in the state. She looks better each time that I see her. She controlled the paint with her length and athletic ability. She also showed a nice shooting touch from the mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id='624028' first='Taylor' last='Sipfle'] Hamilton ([program_tooltip program_id='715422' first='AZ' last='Fire'] 17u Red) – Taylor did a very good job of rim running and making herself available for interior passes. She showed soft hands and could finish around the rim with either hand. She smartly kept the ball high and away from smaller defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='489170' first='Brooke' last='Nowak'] Notre Dame Prep (Southwest Premier 16u EYCL) – Brooke was shooting a high percentage from the field the entire weekend for her squad. What I was most impressed with was that it was from various spots on the floor. She not only shot it from three but moved well without the ball and got to the basket as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='780451' first='Novelle' last='McQuiston'] Perry (VBC 17u National S40) – Novelle played very well over the weekend, showing off her versatility. At different times, she played all five positions on the floor. She rebounded well and shot it well from the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='660230' first='Michelle' last='Kogbara'] Peoria (Locked in Elite) – Kogbara set up shop in the paint and there wasn't much opponents could do. She finished well around the rim, always taking high-percentage shots. She also rebounded well in and out of her area.

[player_tooltip player_id='614445' first='Jaziah' last='Billey'] Dobson ([program_tooltip program_id='715448' first='Arizona' last='Elite'] 17u GUAA) - Jaz might have been the best passer that I saw over the weekend at the Spring Classic. She was always looking to hit her teammates with passes for easy shots. Some of her passes were so good that they caught her teammates off guard. When she did look for her own shot, it was usually for an easy layup. This is a player that many might not know of but should get to know.
