One of the most rising prospects in Arizona, Elam has everything a coach could ask for. Good height, great work ethic, is one of the top in her class academically and can flat out play basketball. Can score the ball effectively from the perimeter or bully opponents in the post. A disciplined shotblocker and an aggressive rebounder. Elam got a lot of college attention at Section 7 and that will continue as coaches continue to discover who she is. Elam has the potential to be in discussions for region and or defensive POY.

Wood was very productive in her limited role last season. After seeing her this offseason expect a breakout season. Wood is a skilled wing with great footwork and a solid handle. A very strong motor and plays a physical game. I would expect her to be one of the leaders in the region with doubles doubles. A very disciplined shot blocker and is very vocal on the floor. Attacks the lane with confidence and scores very well through contact. Wood is on of the rising wings in the 2028 class who will definitely have an impact this season.

Layla is a high level game impactor for the Cougars. Her junior season saw her average 10.5 points. 9.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. the departure of last years senior class will see the need for more production from O'Rourke Slone. She could very well average a double double this year and see her name on the first or second team list as well as in the discussion for a POY award. Another hidden gem in Southern Arizona who coaches will start to take notice of. A vital piece for the success of the Cougars this season.

The reigning region player of the year who helped lead the Mustangs into the playoff is back for one final season. Silvester plays with great confidence and has a very high motor. Great speed and a skilled handle. Shoots well from beyond the arc. Will drive the lane and score through contact and knows how to draw a foul. An incredibly tough competitor who I expect to have another successful year. Silvester continues to impress and her play caught some attention at Section 7 this off season.

Berg is at the helm of the Thunderbolt offense. A rising 2028 guard that will surprise many this season. Her season averages of 6.6 points, 2.4 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals should expect to double in her junior season. Berg, a vocal leader commands the offense with confidence. Handles pressure well and her passes are on point through traffic. Can score well beyond the arc but does a good amount of damage driving the lane. Very tough two way player who will help Mica Mountain compete for a region championship.

Hix might be one of the biggest sleeper prospects not only in Southern Arizona but in the state. She has a strong frame, great athleticism and plays with confidence. Crashes the boards with purpose and can score the second chance opportunity quickly. Very skilled footwork in the post. Can space the floor with a consistent three ball and shoots her middy/floater over opposing forwards with ease. Hix could not only see her name on the first team list but in a year end POY discussion as well. As a junior she averaged 11 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block per game. Expect those averages to rise this season.
