High School Summer Camp Insights: June 7th Edition

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm in constant contact with people around the state that are in the know. High school coaches, travel coaches, media, etc and I'm always hunting their insights. Disclaimer: It's summer ball. For some coaches it means almost literally nothing. But, I think it can set the tone for your team's season. And on an individual level, it shows who's been putting in the work since their HS season ended. She is currently balling on both ends and doing all the things that next level players do." This is great news for Upperman as a team as she will she a big uptick in usage. And I've heard Heath has been awesome. She's really becoming a consistent three point shooter, and it's completely changing he way Heritage can attack you on offense. With the two-headed monster of Heath and Swaney scoring from all 3 levels, how do you guard them?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Her biggest impact, however, has been her ability to defend. As Swaney and Heath draw big time help, and if Graves becomes a shooter you can't help off of, it opens major gaps for Smyth to attack off the bounce.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She had an incredible game in their win over White County. Her defense has been phenomenal as well, as she also took two huge charges. When you know that you will draw the opposition's best defender every game....you know they are looking to get the ball out of your hands on penetration....you know they are look to send big time help....when you know the opponents game plan is to keep you from scoring if they want to have a chance to win....AND you still find a way to get 16-20 points. That's big time. And Swaney has turned into that kid from the people I've spoken with.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
