High School Summer Team Camp Insights: June 8th Edition

Perhaps there isn't a better pure scorer in the '26 class than [player_tooltip player_id='425063' first='Cara' last='Lee Gilbert']. The fact that the same school just offered two kids from the same team a scholarship isn't an accident. She's been rock solid this summer for Farragut as a solid scorer, and above average rebounder. She's looking more and more the part of a high-end starting HS post that can has a ton of versatility. I've been raving about her passing ability for a year now, and her IQ is improving rapidly from the people I've spoken to. She's showing big-time development, and is the type of X factor that could help Farragut go from good to great. If she tops out as a 12 point, 8 rebound, 4 assists post....that's a dynamic player to me. Her size allows scoring from angles around the rim others simply can't dream of. She's not an overwhelming athlete, but she's like a Luka Doncic. Plays at her own pace, gets to her spots, and score efficiently. Legit 3 level scorer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She's been crushing this summer, and her stock has got to be rising amongst college coaches. You simply cannot find scorers like her. She simply has the chance to be great with her unique combination of size, length, instincts, and skill. I'd love to see her consistently get to 15 a game. Once the season starts, teams will game plan to take away [player_tooltip player_id='810591' first='Jaci' last='Neubert']. The scoring load with then fall on KJ, and she's gotta embrace that responsibility. She's a kid with all the tools to be big time D1, and I'm hoping to see her take a leap this season. With Neubert, Priest, Sheridan, VanAcker, Curry....Farragut is just LOADED with weapons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But KJ is the real X factor at the wing. Sheridan and VanAcker have given Farragut two scoring threats that know how to play off the ball. Priest, Neubert, and McNealy will have the ball in their hands 80% of the time. Sheridan is really showing that she can be a consistent standstill shooter, and with as much gravitational pull as the other three will create, she can she a real star role player by simply knocking down open shots and playing D. She looks the part of a high D1 kid that is beginning to find her footing and confidence as a high level scorer that can also get off the ball when she needs to. She can defend, knows how to run and offense, and a nice rebounder for a guard. Gives them another really strong defensive weapon as Heritage looks to compete for a state championship this upcoming season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>My sources have said she's been really solid in her role for Heritage as she's learning to play off the ball, and learning when to attack it, shoot it, or move it.
