This past AAU season, the high school period, and the July Live period showcased so many special players in the State of Florida. These players put in the work and their production on the floor left you impressed and most of the time standing on your feet. In this article, we describe these players with the appropriate adjective.

Resilient

[player_tooltip player_id='429793' first='Olivia' last='Olson'] has been on fire these past few days with her college offers. Olsen is a “Pitbull” on the floor as one coach affectionately described her. Olsen gets after it on both sides of the ball. Offensively, she has a great feel for the game and can make adjustments instinctively. Olsen can also shoot the rock from every level on the floor. Her three point shot is potent and she has a great midrange game as well. And, if you give her the lane she will attack the rim and is crafty with her finishes. Olsen Is resilient. She played this way after coming off of an injury.

Superior Athletic

Dekara Merthie made a huge impression at the FBC showcase. Mertie was probably the most athletic person in the room and her basketball skills were great as well. She played with a great deal of athleticism, but don't get it twisted, she is a very skilled player who can attack the rim and finish. She was probably the best two way player in the building. Her defensive is smothering and she can pickup at full court and excel on the defensive end. Merthie has quick feet and can keep an opposing guard in front and cut off driving angles

Unflappable

[player_tooltip player_id='243900' first='Kali' last='Barrett'] was one of the best players I saw this year. Unflappable is the word that comes to mind and describes her Barrett was lights out at the FABC and showed leadership and had great production. She was very efficient behind the arc and could also score the ball when attacking the riim. Barrett is also very good on the boards and came very last year to averaging a double-double.

Gifted

[player_tooltip player_id='515089' first='Ameera' last='Kone'] was mesmerizing at times with her ability to play a high level of basketball at such a young age. Kone has the size and the pure basketball instincts. She can handle the ball and play multiple positions on the offense. Watching her play with 2 different age groups on travel ball and then on her high school team, I got a chance to see her play the point and also play at the two position. Her ability to score is so much more advanced than her peers. She was a top player in last year's Freshman Expo and that carried over to the travel period, and her high school summer experience. Kone can shoot the three with ease and scores so well off the dribble. The young guard is a a gifted player and one of the top young 2027 players in the entire State of Florida. It was fascinating seeing so much growth on the court in leas than one calendar year.

Truth

[player_tooltip player_id='468627' first='Jasleen' last='Green'] ain't nothing but the truth. The way she maneuvers on a basketball court is poetry. Green has very good handles and the ability to drive either left or right. When she gets to the run, she knows how to finish and can do so with the left or right. Green can also shoot the three and she was very efficient from behind the arc, especially during the FABC Showcase. The soon to be Junior guard was one of the top performers of the summer and she is nothing but the truth.

Elite Shooter

[player_tooltip player_id='248677' first='Anilys' last='Rolon'] set the stage in the State Championship game in Lakeland with 2 quick three pointers. Rolon can shoot the three from anywhere on the court , but she is even more dangerous from the corners. To counter her lethal shooting, Rolon can also get to the rim and score.

[player_tooltip player_id='900318' first='Kayla' last='Greyvensteyn'] was another elite shooter who shot the cover off of the ball during the AAU season. She has a great feel on the offensive side of the ball and knows how to play winning offense. She is a killer in the pick and roll game and uses her basketball IQ to get open looks for herself or for her teammates. She is also very good in transition and will pull up and and launch the three while on the Fast-break.
