Kali Barrett Kali Barrett 6'2" | SF Cardinal Mooney | 2025 State FL had as good of a tournament in Lakeland as anyone. She scored from everywhere on the court, and she rebounded, ran the floor, and did everything on an elite level. She left no doubt in each game who the best player on the court was and she made it look easy. She and teammates placed a target on themselves from the onset with their mantra “State Championship or bust.” Placing that sort of pressure on yourself can be hard, but that’s what elite players want – to be placed in a position of having to perform at an elite level – night in and night out. Kali has been to Lakeland before, but she made sure she was leaving with a State Title this time! She averaged 24 ppg and 12 rpg to secure Mooney the 3A Championship. I’m sure this one feels great for Kali and Cardinal Mooney as this is their first State Championship win!

Kali Barrett Kali Barrett 6'2" | SF Cardinal Mooney | 2025 State FL , the Cincinnati commit, has had a successful season at Cardinal Mooney, a program that has been the 3A state runner-up for three consecutive years. She has been a key part of the system since her freshman year.

Over her career, Barrett has averaged 14.4 PPG, 8.4 REB/G, and 2.2 AST/G, demonstrating consistency throughout her four years. Her versatility has made her a scoring threat in multiple ways. She is the all-time leading scorer in Mooney girls’ basketball history and will be remembered as one of the best players to come out of the Sarasota area—and Florida as a whole.

Kali Barrett Kali Barrett 6'2" | SF Cardinal Mooney | 2025 State FL put on a scoring display in Atlanta that wont be forgotten. Barrett launched 31 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. At the She Got Game tournament, Barrett put on a fireworks show by herself. She had the jump shot working and she got to the rim- drawing the foul, bullying past smaller guards, and speeding by bigger forwards. Barrett was explosive on the boards, grabbing rebounds over every for the double-double. Barrett flirts with a double double every time she steps on the floor. She had some amazing defensive plays including a steal at the top and a coast to coast reverse layup for the finish.

Barrett is one of the top players in the State of Florida and gets the job done on both ends of the court. Barrett is a high-IQ player who has the ability to impact the game in a lot of ways. Her selfless play and ability to serve as a willing playmaker makes her team really dangerous. Barrett had six or more assists in Mignery’s 30-point game. She was about 4 assists away from a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Barrett has the versatile game to shoot from the perimeter or get to the rim. She can literally take over a game. I saw it first hand at the FABC showcase this past summer. She has the ability to handle the ball, pull-up for the three pointer, rip to the midrange shot, maneuver into the paint, or get to the rim for the game winning bucket. Barrett definitely won’t be intimidated by the moment. She appears to be unflappable and no moment seems too big.
