Aaralyn delivered a strong performance in the NEPSAC AAA Quarterfinals against Tilton, finishing with 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals while knocking down five three-pointers on efficient shooting. One of those came from nearly 10 feet behind the three-point line. When attacking the basket she uses her extremely strong frame, making it difficult for defenders to hold their ground. Aaralyn is also a shifty ball handler, creating space off the dribble to free herself for jump shots.

Aaralyn put together an impressive defensive stretch, recording five steals against Worcester Academy and four more against Nobles, while averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds across those two games. As a freshman last season, she played with confidence beyond her years and seamlessly fit in against older competition. She’s a quick decision-maker on the perimeter, getting into her shot with no hesitation and releasing it rapidly. She also sees the floor well, consistently advancing the ball and setting up open teammates, highlighted by an 18-point, 6-rebound, 4-assist performance against NMH.

Aaralun put together an impressive all-around outing with 24 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, even in a tough loss. She has a lightning-quick first step that allows her to get to the rim, pull up in the midrange, and draw contact while finishing through it. Defenses are stuck in a bind guarding her, as she can blow by tight coverage or confidently knock down shots when defenders give her space.

Aaralyn made it a point to call for high screens to allow the action to develop which made defenders fully commit to an option. Early on Scott analyzed quickly and made good reads in a pinch. She found teammates behind the defense after rotations happened, plus she drew contact to get to the line. As the game went on, she made more of a concentrated effort to be more of a scoring threat. She was able to create a few nice balanced attacks getting all the way to the rim with the defense draped all over her.

Aaralynn Scott (2028) | 5’6 PG | St. Andrew’s
Scott is do-it-all point guard whose game has expanded immensely, particularly as a major scoring threat, ramping up her production significantly as of late. Her game has always been well-founded, but Aaralyn has shown so much more explosion getting to her spots. She’s a 3-level scorer that finishes with a nice flow. Scott is a decisive decision maker that gets to her progressions with poise, so she rarely gets flustered, if ever. The defense she provides must be mentioned too. Her footspeed along with anticipation skills allow her success which just helps to translate easy points. Scott is really worth all the hype.

Scott’s jump to the top of her class came even faster than anticipated. Watching her in the ’23-24 season it was apparent that she had so much potential. At that time, she was a young player that was effective, playing a mature style of basketball. Scott was efficient in steady minutes. Since then, her game has evolved at a rapid pace; it’s clear why she’s getting major recognition from numerous Division 1 schools now. At this point, she could very well be considered one of the best young players in all of NEPSAC.

Aaralyn is a strong physical guard for RIBC. She plays hard and wasn’t afraid to get on the floor for loose balls. She showed great patience on the offensive end but was ready to shoot it when her number was called. When handling the ball she controlled tempo and made good decisions. She also showed the abilty to play on or off the ball.
