Best summer 2028s

Here are some rising freshmen who had great summers and are players to watch entering their first year of high school.    [player_tooltip player_id='551094' first='Riley' last='Lynch'] was one-half of a 2028 guard duo that Catholic had that impressed me this summer. She was fantastic at DMVlive and was part of my best shooters at the event list and best players at the event not in high school list. Riley has excellent range as a shooter and keeps her head up when she drives to deliver impressive passes. She does great playing either guard position, and I could see her transition into more of a one as her career develops.     The other Catholic 2028er I have been impressed by this summer is [player_tooltip player_id='735561' first='Lauryn' last='Loritts']. Lauryn is a premier talent in this 2028 class. She spent last season dominating on JV and has had an outstanding summer. She left an impression at DMVlive, even struggling with her jump shot at times. Lauryn's speed and ability to finish at the rim are fantastic, and she is a very active defender. Lauryn is a wing/guard hybrid and does everything well on the floor. She had an outstanding summer for Catholic and Boo Williams and enters this year as one of the best rising freshmen in the state.     I talked about [player_tooltip player_id='541415' first='Kennedi' last='Young'] entering the summer as one of the elite 2028 talents to watch. She has had a solid summer and remains one of the best rising freshmen in the country. Kennedi is an elite two-way player with terrific size for a wing entering the 9th grade. She is versatile defensively and excels defensively one-on-one on the perimeter. Kennedi is a good athlete and a great driver. She has a reliable mid-range jump shot she gets to and does great in space. Kennedi is a complete basketball player, and she will make her impact at the high school level sooner than later.     In the Spring, I talked about [player_tooltip player_id='904768' first='Natalee' last='Bowling'] and Team Impact being a small-town AAU to watch. And if you spent time watching them early in the summer, Natalee was impactful for them. Natalee was playing a few years up, and her ability to protect the rim and rebound was great all summer. She is a solid finisher around the rim, and she understands how to use her length well at both ends. She was invited to a few big camps this summer because of her play and performed well. She will make some waves in the Roanoke area at the high school level quickly.     [player_tooltip player_id='749389' first='Mila' last='Spencer'] has had an outstanding summer for [program_tooltip program_id='715192' first='Cap' last='City Ballerz']. Mila is a complete offensive player and gets it done on both ends. Mila is a great driver and a strong finisher. She is a good athlete and has nice size. Mila is not afraid of contact and often plays through it. She had good showings at the Nike EYBL and stood out this summer. Mila could contribute to Trinity Episcopal right away and is a player to watch in Richmond.       Northside Guard [player_tooltip player_id='892240' first='Kelsey' last='Harper'] is poised for a big freshman season after a solid summer. Kelsey was on JV last year and dominated for Northside. Kelsey is great on both ends of the floor, and her ability to make plays on both sides makes her an elite talent. She forces turnovers defensively and has terrific hands. She is a great finisher and passer. Kelsey can contribute to this Northside time sooner rather than later.
