Michigan Freshman Showcase: Want Them With The Ball

These were players that we'll be watching and evaluating a lot over the next few years. There was a terrific collection of players that I would want to have with their hands on the ball. She put touch on her passes and was able to bounce them and spin them into small spaces with precision. Slack is the rare type of player that can pass a teammate open. Valentine proved that it's not skipping the generation. She had a beautiful lob feed over the top of a defender.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='979580' first='Audrey' last='McCarley']</strong> (Chelsea) - McCarley was strong and smooth with the ball. She had a swooping drive across the lane in traffic that led to a bucket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='980245' first='Makayla' last='Campbell']</strong> (DEPSA) - Campbell has the ability to be flat out dangerous with the ball in her hands. Her start-stop speed, low base and overall elite ball handling kept defenders leaning and reaching all day. I was impressed with her ability to put her defender on her hip and then her decision making once she had the upper hand. She's a talent that flaunted ball skills at the showcase. Powell can attack off the bounce and get downhill with the ball.
