Expert Analysis

Ella continued the strong spring she has been putting together with another impressive showing at the Davenport Elite Camp. Already holding an offer from the host program, she certainly reinforced why the coaching staff believes in her game. Ella was outstanding during the 1-on-1 competition, getting off to a hot start and proving extremely difficult to contain with her combination of size, skill, and scoring instincts. She also separated herself during the drill work, where her polished skill set consistently stood out. Once the 5v5 games began, Ella was one of the most productive scorers on the floor, finding ways to put points on the board from multiple levels and in a variety of situations. Defensively, her length was a major asset as she disrupted passing lanes, generated steals, recorded blocks, and created numerous deflections. Her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor made her one of the top performers at the camp.

Ella was in the lab cooking for Midland at CMU Team Camp. She looked confident in all phases for the Chemics. Ella competed at 100 mph, ripping the nets from three at a high clip, creating steals on the defensive end, attacking hard downhill off the dribble to get to the free-throw line, and actively pursuing rebounds. She was on fire from beyond the arc, sinking threes from the wings and the corners off the dribble and the catch. She closed out hard to block a shot, and the sound echoed across the gym. Ella jumped a pass for a swipe, then pushed it the other way in top gear for a fast-break layup. She stole the ball away again and turned on the jets for another full-court finish. One of my favorite moves was when Ella glided to the hoop, elevated, and rocked the baby to sleep with an underhand scoop left-handed finish in transition.

Ella’s stock keeps going up. She’s filling out her frame and showing all the signs of an elite guard prospect. Fundamentally sound, zips the ball around the court, skilled finisher/balanced, accurate from beyond the arc, shot blocker/disrupter in the passing lanes, length, and quickness. Ella was an All-Tournament First Team selection at the Northwood PGH MI College Tour, and she’ll be a key prospect to focus on with Mystics 16U P24 tomorrow.

Ella, a long, athletic guard for Mystics 16U P24, is currently playing at a very high level and continuing to elevate her impact on the floor. She was making plays all over the court, consistently affecting the game on both ends with her versatility and energy. One of the highlights of her day came when she put her defender on the spin cycle with a smooth spin move that led to a clean finish. Offensively, Ella knocked down multiple shots from beyond the arc, while also crashing the boards aggressively and converting second-chance opportunities with putbacks. She gets downhill quickly and efficiently, putting constant pressure on defenses, and she was just as strong on the defensive end, racking up multiple steals. With the way she is performing, Ella’s recruitment looks poised to really take off this spring and summer.

Ella had one of the most impressive performances at Wade’s World Fall Girls Showcase, showing why she’s a competitor every coach would want on their side. The long, skilled guard battled her way to the 1v1 finals and stood out for her relentless energy and toughness. She plays with that rare “dog” mentality — fearless, scrappy, and determined to make every possession count.
