Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Kendall had a very productive day for Rockford at the West Michigan Hoop Summit. She crashed the glass to secure an offensive rebound and scored the put-back. Kendall finished inside off two feet and buried a smooth pull-up jumper from the elbow. She drove confidently off a screen with her left all the way for the layup and used great wall-up technique to block a shot. Kendall has the vision, ball-handling skill, physicality, length, and outside range to excel at guard or forward.

Kendall, representing Rockford, caught the attention of coaches with her standout performance at the Ferris Team Camp. With her length and versatility, she proved she can guard any position on the floor and contribute wherever needed. Offensively, she showcased her ability to stretch the floor by hitting multiple shots from beyond the arc, while also taking advantage of mismatches by posting up smaller defenders and finishing with polished footwork around the basket. Her inside-out skill set and defensive range made her one of the most impactful players on the court.

Kendall’s hard work showed during her performance at The Smoke with West Michigan Drive 2028-Paiz. A year ago, she played primarily inside as a rim protector, rebounder, and finisher. She’s blossomed into a confident perimeter player and wing with next-level upside as a potential guard. Kendall drilled two wing triples and swished another up top using a nasty step-back dribble. Her improved shooting technique and accuracy was evident. Kendall created space from defenders with a shifty behind-the-back crossover, chased down an offensive rebound to score off two feet, and finished layups efficiently in traffic.

I’d feel very comfortable with the ball in Bires’ hands. I was very impressed with how she protected the ball with a low front shoulder on her way to the rim.

Bires was a force on defense at the Freshman Showcase. She was a physical defender near the block. Bires wasn’t just comfortable with contact, but I think she actually played better through it.
