Holtman has also had a fantastic high school career. She has played many different roles for Ryle, but she has always handled her role so well. When she was younger and playing with some extremely talented upperclassmen, she made big contributions defensively while always being a solid piece of the puzzle offensively. When she needed to step up and be the leader after some of those players graduated, she filled that role seamlessly. Holtman has consistently worked on her game and has truly gotten better every single year. Now, she is ready to move onto the next level where she will play at the University of Cincinnati next season.

Abby is a pure shooter who has been a consistent three point sniper for years. She will team up with Byars next year at UC and could get on the court as a freshman thanks to her shooting abilities.

Holtman has the size to beat you when she’s going to the basket and the skills to beat you in every other area. She’s got a really high release on her shot that makes her extremely hard to block, but she can also shot fake and go around her defender, so she’s a really tough defensive assignment. Holtman faced some tough defensive assignments herself and she really showed her ability to alter shots and be disruptive as a defender. She was also making great passes to her teammates, but whenever her team needed a basket, it was clear that they could rely on Holtman to score that much-needed bucket.

The Cincinatti commit has won a KHSAA State Championship, and been there many times throughout her high school career, and she was on track to help lead them to another state title before COVID cancelled the tournament at the end of her sophomore season. She has been making major impacts on the court since she got to Ryle, and with how many talented players she’s played alongside there, that is saying a lot about Holtman as a player. She can score at all 3 levels and she’s an extremely tough match-up. Everything she does is solid and her work ethic is special. Expect Holtman to finish out her career on a high note.

An elite shooter who will likely be a three point specialist in college, at least right away, Holtman has done her part to keep Ryle as one of the best programs in Kentucky. Abby has come a long way as a slasher in the past couple of seasons and can play with the ball in her hands when needed. Look for her to have little trouble adjusting to the college three point when she enrolls at Cincy.

Abby is one of the best shooters in recent memory in Northern Kentucky and has had a decorated career to this point. Committed to Cincinnati, Holtman is the best prospect in NKY but may not be the most valuable to her team.
