Addie ran the point position for the majority of the day during five versus five and looked excellent doing so. Her first step covers a lot of ground and is very quick which had defenders off balance all day. Harrell is long and can leap as well, making her an impact player on both ends of the court. She got into the painted area consistently before making good decisions on when to score and when to distribute. Harrell has a nice finishing package in the paint, and she made a lot of shots from the perimeter on Saturday. She is a player that college coaches are aware of and I expect her to pick up a few offers during her sophomore season. Addie was one of the youngest players at the Expo but also one of the best which is a high compliment because of the depth of talent of participants at the event. The best is yet to come for Addison. She loves the game and lives in the gym. So, seeing her now standout is only a preview of what’s to come the next three years.

Addie took the opportunity to showcase another part of her game in the individual event designed for just the purpose. She is always excellent pushing the basketball out on the break, but Harrell looked as though she made a concerted effort to distribute the ball to her teammates rather than score on Saturday. She passed up several opportunities to keep the basketball with a probability of scoring, but Addie was patient, waited on the defender to try and stop the ball before dropping the ball off to a teammate for an easy lay up at the rim. Addison is a tall, long guard with very good quickness and leaping ability which she used to rebound the ball well and create steals defensively. The very talented combo guard is already receiving interest from colleges on the division one and two level.

Addie has had about a good a Spring and start to the Summer as anyone in her class in Georgia. She has spoken with Division and Division two college coaches recently as a result of her stellar play and received multiple invites to Elite Camps from schools on the same level. Harrell is an excellent slasher who has game-changing quickness to go along with her size and length. She is a weapon defensively, especially in the press, where her on ball defense and ability to anticipate and then jump in the passing lane and create steals has created havoc for opposing guards and coaches. The next step in Addie’s development is a consistent jump shot from the perimeter. I am not saying she can’t do it now, but her ability to take over games with the skills and physical gifts mentioned above, she has not had to prove it in the games I have seen.

Addie made a lot of plays over the course of two days for her team on both ends of the floor. Defensively is where her length and athleticism had the biggest impact. Harrell was very disruptive in the press both on the ball, coming to trap, and jumping in the passing lane creating turnovers and turning offense into defense. She has a long wing span and knows how to use it. She was very bouncy and much quicker than I remember her from just a year ago. She puts a lot of pressure on the defense getting down hill off the dribble where she is very good getting to the rim and finishing or drawing fouls. Addie was also very opportunistic on the offensive glass and was able to get a couple quick put backs off missed shots. She is player who is trending in the right direction and still has a lot of untapped potential. Addison will only continue to get better the next three years.
